Sunday, (Apr 29) – Pray that God will help us align our hearts with His and to focus our minds on what He desires for us. Pray that we will be open to the continuous work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Pray that we will daily clothe ourselves in Christ’s likeness, to pay attention to how we speak, how we act, and how we use our time. Pray that we will choose to put away the things of our sinful nature that does not please God, and choose to cloth ourselves with compassion, humility, patience, and other fruitful signs of Christ’s work in our lives.

Monday, (Apr 30) – Pray for the Nation: As the candidates for GE14 have begun their campaigns, pray that the rakyat will be able to differentiate between principled candidates who have a heart for the nation and those who are self-serving candidates. Pray against candidates who use religious and racial issues in their campaigning and for the rakyat to see through their evil motives. Pray that all candidates will do their campaigning with decorum and civility, and not resort to mud-slinging and underhanded attacks upon their opponents. Pray for peace throughout the campaigning period, and for protection for all the candidates and their families, and also the rakyat.

Tuesday, (May 1) – Pray for the Nation: Pray for every Christian in the nation to be awakened to the corrupt and worrying state of the nation, and to have a strong sense of concern and loyalty towards the people of this nation. Pray that Christians will seek the welfare of the nation by voting righteous and upright candidates into office and opposing and rejecting all corrupt candidates. Pray for God’s wisdom upon His people to know His choice of the candidates and they will vote accordingly with courage and boldness, especially for those in the rural areas in Sabah and Sarawak.

As the youths prepare the food and drinks, pray for safety in the kitchen and for the food preparation to go off smooth. The target is to raise RM3,000 from the food sale. Pray that they will be able to meet this target.

Pray for voters not to be afraid to reject corrupt, self-seeking and arrogant candidates. Pray that they will have the courage to vote for righteous and upright candidates. Pray that voters will see through money politics and abhor and oppose all forms of vote buying and bribery. Pray that all voters will be able to cast their votes without any obstacles or hindrances, and that there will be no problems nor prolonged delays at the immigration check point for voters returning from Singapore.

Pray for God’s wisdom to be on these two important Boards in TRAC as they meet to deliberate on pressing needs. Pray for journey mercies as the members of the two Boards travel from various parts of West Malaysia to Petaling Jaya for the meetings. Pray also for the well-being of all TRAC pastors and their family members, especially for Pastor Wong Chun Mun (Grace Methodist Church, Ipoh) and Pastor James Ong (Whispering Hope Methodist Church) who are our two newest pastors in TRAC.

Saturday, (May 5) – Pray for the World: Praise God for the work of the Holy Spirit in China, that people are coming to Christ daily. Praise God for the courage of Chinese Christians who boldly share their faith despite the threat of persecution and pray that God will strengthen those who are in prison. As the Communist authorities are clamping down on Christian children, trying to hinder them from participating in Christian activities that will strengthen their faith, pray for God’s intervention so that the children will be able to attend the Christian activities.
