Sunday, (Feb 4) – Loving one another is a great challenge and a high calling. Pray that God will touch our hearts with His love through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, that He will motivate us to share that love with the people we come into contact with every day, especially our family members. Pray that God will give us the courage to love others sacrificially like He has loved us. Pray that we will daily live a life of love, that we will love not just in words or with talk, but in deeds and in truth. Pray that God will give us grace and strength to love the people we struggle to love.
Monday, (Feb 5) – Pray for the Nation: Because of the economic problems in the nation, many people are getting retrenched and are out of jobs. Pray that the government will not paint a rosy but inaccurate picture of the situation, but will focus on how to help those who do not have jobs. Pray that God will somehow enable these people to be able to provide food on the table for their families, and that their children will be able to continue with their schooling. Pray for the people who have vented out their frustrations due to retrenchments that their complaints will be heard by the authorities, and they will not be penalized / punished in any way.
Tuesday, (Feb 6) – The first Local Conference of 2018 for Klang Wesley will be held tomorrow, February 7, 2018. Pray that all members of the Local Conference will make it a priority to attend the meeting. Pray for journey mercies and wisdom upon Rev Dr T, Jeyakumar as he presides over the meeting. Pray that the people will be sensitive to the presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit, and that the meeting will flow smoothly in a spirit of love and unity. Pray that all plans and proceedings will be in line with God’s will for our church, and will bring joy and glory to Him.
Wednesday, (Feb 7) – The first District Conference of Central District 2 (CD 2) will be held tomorrow, February 8, 2018 in DUMC. Pray for journey mercies for all those from the 8 churches in CD 2 who will be attending the meeting. Pray for God’s guidance upon Pastor Ashok as he chairs the meeting. Pray for the elections for the various District Commissions that the people elected will work in unity for the needs of the district. Pray that as Rev Joshua Hong shares about prayer, the Holy Spirit will ignite in the hearts of the people a passion for prayer. Pray that the District leaders will be united as they plan to meet once in two months to look into development in CD 2, especially in the area of new outreach work and possible preaching points.
Thursday, (Feb 8) – Prayer United’s Vision is for the 200 plus parliamentary constituencies throughout the nation to be covered in prayer. As Prayer United is looking for 200 plus churches, where each constituency will be covered by one anchor church, pray that God will raise up churches to respond to this need. Pray that the Holy Spirit will empower these churches to strategic and powerful intercession for the constituencies even as the nation approaches GE 14.
Friday, (Feb 9) – Pray for TRAC: Jeremiah School (JS) 2018 will conclude on February 11, 2018 with the graduation and dedication service being held in Wesley Methodist Church, Sitiawan. Pray for all the graduating students, especially our 3 students in JS, namely Reuben Ng, Lim Jade and Lim Faye that they will find a sense of accomplishment completing JS. Pray that the fire for God will not grow dim but that all the JS graduates will continue to love God and others in their localities. Pray that those who sense God’s calling to fulltime ministry (including becoming a pastor) will seek the Lord for His perfect timing. Pray for journey mercies for family members and all who will be travelling to Sitiawan and later to return to their respective homes.
