Prayer Points: January 7, 2018

Sunday, (Jan 7) – Pray that we will choose to turn away from the cravings of the world and the flesh by praying the prayer of the branch, “Lord, live Your life through me.” Pray that we will have the desire to learn to abide in Christ for every moment of our lives, and to abide in His Word so that it becomes part of us. Pray that God will do for us through Christ what we cannot do for ourselves — bear fruit. Pray that in 2018, as individuals, and together as a church, we will bear much fruit as we yield to Christ to live His life through us, that He will be glorified in our lives and through our lives.

Monday, (Jan 8) – Pray for Wesley Methodist School Klang. The school organized a trip to Langkawi at the end of last year, but the trip was cancelled due to bad weather. Pray that the tour agency in charge of the trip will be able to refund to the students the amount they paid for the trip. Pray also for the Leadership Camp that will be held in Kuantan from January 26 -28, 2018, where 80 prefects from the school will be attending. Pray for journey mercies for the students, and that they will be able to put into practice the leadership skills they have learnt in the camp.

Tuesday, (Jan 9) – Praise God for the 3 Orang Asli (OA) students who have graduated from Bible School in Sarawak and have returned. Praise God they have found placements to serve as pastors in OA churches. Pray that they will serve diligently and faithfully. Pray that God will grant them confidence to lead so that they will be an example to their community. Praise God that the recent Christmas celebration was well attended by pre-believing adults and children. Pray that these OAs will attend the weekly Saturday services. Praise the Lord for the OA children who have shown much promise after regular attendance at the weekly literacy classes and the VBS. Pray that the Lord will mold them to be exemplary in their behavior and attitude.

Wednesday, (Jan 10) – Pray for the Nation: As nation looks towards GE 14, pray that the Election Commission (EC) will not fear, or be beholden to anyone, but will do their best to ensure a clean and fair General Election. Pray that God will protect the members of the EC as they choose the path of righteousness and justice for the nation. Pray also for righteous men and women of integrity, with a calling to serve the people, to be nominated as candidates.

Thursday, (Jan 11) – The 1st Klang Boys’ Brigade (BB) will be open for recruitment every Saturday (beginning this Saturday, January 6, 2018) to boys from Standard 1 to Form 3 for the year 2018. Pray for a good response from the boys of ACS (both primary & secondary schools) and Wesley Methodist School Klang. Pray for good cooperation from the principals of these schools, that they will be fully supportive of the BB ministry. Pray that God will continue to work in the hearts of the boys and officers, that those who have not placed their faith in Christ will be open to the Gospel this year, especially the boys and officers who have been in BB for some time.

Friday, (Jan 12) – Pray for TRAC: The TRAC Executive Board will have a morning day retreat and an afternoon Board meeting on Saturday (January 13, 2018). Pray for TRAC President, Rev Dr T. Jeyakumar as he chairs these sessions. Pray for God’s leading and guidance upon him. Pray that the Board members will be excited about the new quadrennium vision: Come, Follow, Become Like Jesus, with the 4 essentials of Personal Growth, Building Community, A Voice to our Nation & A Vision for the World. Pray also that TRAC churches will rise up to the new TRAC Vision and that every TRAC member will truly be a faithful follower of Jesus.

Saturday, (Jan 13) – Pray for the World: Pray for the people of Cuba, for clean water and for the spread of disease to stop for those affected by hurricane Irma. Pray that God will strengthen His Church and rebuild His people so that they can continue ministering to the people of Cuba during this time of hardship. Pray that many hearts will be open to the love and hope the Gospel brings during this difficult time.
