Prayer Points: March 25, 2018

Sunday, (Mar 25) – As we enter into Holy Week, give thanks to God for sending His Son and paving the way for our lives to be set free through Jesus’ death on the cross. Pray that we will give priority to spend time in quiet reflection, worship and prayer this week. Pray that the Lord will show us how to follow Him for His glory and not our own selfish motives. Pray that He will help us stay strong and true to Him, not to follow after the voice of the crowds and be swayed by its approval, but to press in close to Him, to hear His voice, and seek after Him alone.

Monday, (Mar 26) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that God will watch over Malaysia during GE14. Pray that the police and those in authority will carry out their duties with honour and responsibility to protect the people. Pray that any plans by any quarters to jeopardize national stability and peace will be brought to nothing. Pray that voters will take their role seriously and will cast their ballots on polling day without much ado. Pray that all those on duty under the Electoral Commission throughout Malaysia will carry out their tasks in a fair manner and the whole process of voting will run smoothly.

Tuesday, (Mar 27) – Pray for the World: Pray that the Christians in persecuted churches throughout the world will have opportunities to come together to celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ during Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Pray that the Lord will protect them from authorities that seek to disrupt their worship services. Pray that the Lord’s presence and the power of His Spirit will strengthen and encourage all these believers to continue to persevere in their faith.

Wednesday, (Mar 28) – Maundy Thursday Communion Service will be held tomorrow. Pray for good weather and for our church members to set aside time to come to worship Christ and commemorate His institution of the New Covenant through the Last Supper. Pray for a humble spirit that is open and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Pray that as we share in the Holy Communion, our lives may be blessed, broken and given to Him that He may use us to bless others. Pray for God’s anointing upon Pastor Steven Low as he brings the message that it will be a word in season for our church.

Thursday, (Mar 29) – Pray for the Good Friday Service tomorrow, for good weather and smooth traffic flow so that people will be able to come on time for the service. Pray that God will grant us humble and contrite hearts that will be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Pray that we will respond to God in repentance, knowing that He is faithful and just to forgive us. Pray also for the Good Friday Morning Prayer (9:00am-1:30pm) that our church members, especially those who are not working, will come to seek the Lord in worship and prayer, and to proclaim His Word from the Book of Isaiah.

Friday, (Mar 30) – Pray for TRAC: Praise God for the dedication of the new sanctuary and building facilities of Trinity Methodist Church, PJ on March 18, 2018. The entire project (inception of idea to completion) took 16 years. Further thanksgiving to God that the Certificate of Completion & Compliance from the authorities was obtained 2 days before the dedication service. Pray that the church members will rise up to worship God for who He is as now there will be only one Sunday morning service (instead of 2) and the style of worship will be one. Pray that the kindergarten ministry will flourish, especially with the new classrooms, and with these new facilities, ultimately children and adults will come to trust in Jesus.

Saturday, (Mar 31) – Pray for good weather tomorrow, and safety for all as our 3 Methodist Churches and St Barnabas gather in unity for the Combined Churches Easter Sunrise Service. Pray that this combined service will bear testimony to the community the power and joy of Christ’s resurrection. Pray also for our own Easter service, for good teamwork among all the people involved so that everything will flow smoothly. Pray for God’s anointing upon the Easter message, that hearts will be touched and lives transformed by the power of God.
