Sunday, (May 6) – Pray that we will strive to follow God’s Word and choose to forgive all who have offended or hurt us, to turn loose the petty resentments and grudges that poison the world with hatred, and to overlook the faults of others. Pray that we will choose to release any bitterness we may be harbouring, and to relinquish the hurt and anger that we are experiencing so that we can forgive from the heart and walk in the freedom of forgiveness. Pray that wherever we have offended or hurt others, we will choose to humble ourselves and seek forgiveness from the one we have wronged.
Monday, (May 7) – Pray for the World: Praise the Lord for those in Vietnam who translate the Bible into local tribal languages. Pray that these Bibles will be made available to these tribes, and the people will be transformed through the Word. Pray that the believers in Vietnam will be properly discipled and they will grow to be matured and equipped followers of Christ.
Tuesday, (May 8) – Pray for the Nation: Pray for God’s hand of protection over the nation as the rakyat prepares for the polls tomorrow. Tear down the evil spirits of deception, violence, treachery, fear, intimidation and witchcraft that they be rendered helpless and unable to cause trouble. Pray for a huge turnout of voters. Pray that God will move the hearts of the “fence-sitters” that they will take responsibility and come forth to cast their votes. Pray for courage for all civil servants, police and military personnel to vote without fear and according to their consciences. Pray that all registered voters will have the opportunity to cast their votes, especially those who are travelling from outstation or overseas. Pray also for the large number of voters returning from Singapore that there will be no delay at the immigration checkpoints.
Wednesday, (May 9) – Pray for the Nation: On this Polling Day, pray that voters will be wise in who they vote for, choosing candidates who have moral stature and who are able to serve the nation. Pray that they will not be swayed or bought over by money or gifts. Pray especially for the rural voters who are likely to be inundated with promises and gifts in the run up to the elections. Pray that all votes cast via any form of fraud will exposed. Pray for competent and impartial elections officials who will oversee the process with fairness and transparency, especially during the counting of the votes. Pray that the PACAs will be alert and bold. Pray for a safe, joyful and peaceful election with good weather.
Thursday, (May 10) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that all political parties, their candidates and the rakyat will accept the polling results, regardless of the outcome, and not undermine the peace of the nation. Pray that the candidates who have lost will be gracious in their defeat, and the victorious candidates will be humble in their victory. Pray that the police and armed forces will be alert and impartial as they do their duty to keep peace in the nation, and all trouble makers will be caught and severely dealt with. Pray that this will be a watershed moment for the nation, and God will bless the nation with a government of high moral integrity, and wisdom and competence to govern the nation.
Friday, (May 11) – Pray for TRAC: Pray for TRAC President, Rev Dr T. Jeyakumar. Pray for journey mercies wherever he travels to carry out his duties. Pray for strength to be upon him and for God’s peace to with his wife and children. Pray for wisdom as he has made a monthly commitment to lead and mentor a group of young adult leaders in Sitiawan Wesley, who will in turn lead about 90 young adults in the church. Pray for godly impartation upon them as they take their faith seriously in the Lord.
Saturday, (May 12) – Our church will be hosting a Blood Donation Drive tomorrow, May 13, 2018 from 10am to 3pm. Pray for a good response from our church members, and also from members of the public to come and donate blood. Pray that our church members will use this opportunity to greet and network with the donors from the public, connect and share with them about the goodness of God in their lives. Pray for good weather, and the Lord’s protection upon the Blood Donation Drive so that everything will go off smoothly.
