Sunday, (Sept 3) – Pray that we will acknowledge Jesus Christ as our King not merely with our lips, but with our lives, that we will “take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering” (Romans 12:1b, THE MESSAGE). Pray that we will choose not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds such that we may be sacrifices to God’s good and acceptable and perfect will. Pray that we will choose to grow spiritually and become more and more like Jesus Christ every day in our character, to use our talents and gifts to help others, to share the Good News with other people, and to fulfill the mission and purpose our King has put us on this earth to do.
Monday, (Sept 4) – Pray that God will pour His blessings upon families that there will be oneness and harmony in all families. Pray for godly and God-fearing spouses who are full of God’s wisdom that together they will build families after God’s heart. Pray that God will heal and restore all broken relationships in families. Pray that Christian marriages and families will be a reflection of Christ’s love for His Church. Pray for strong family altars where Christ is honoured and revered. Pray that Christian homes will be God’s lighthouses in their neighbourhood and communities, so that the light and love of Christ will be shone into the homes of pre-believers.
Tuesday, (Sept 5) – Praise God that our youths are learning what it means to grow in unity, and they have been actively interacting with each other. As the youths want to be more connected with the adults in church, the Youth Committee has designated September 17, 2017, from 11:30am – 12:30pm, for the adults in the church to bring the youths out for a meal, to go shopping, or simply hang out together. Pray that many of the adults will take this opportunity to connect with the youths, and both the youths and adults will get to know each other better. Pray that through such events, the generation gap will be bridged, and there will be greater bonding across all the age groups in our church.
Wednesday, (Sept 6) – There will be a special meeting tomorrow, September 7, 2017, in Klang Wesley with Dr William MacKenzie. Pray for good weather, and a good response from our church members, and also that Christians from other churches will come for the meeting. Pray for God’s anointing and wisdom upon Dr MacKenzie that his sharing will bless and encourage us in our journey with Christ, and draw us into a deeper relationship with Him.
Thursday, (Sept 7) – Pray for TRAC: The TRAC Joint Boards Meeting will be held from September 8 – 10, 2017 at Port Dickson Methodist Centre. This is a yearly meeting where all the Annual Conference Boards meet together to plan for the quadrennium (begins in 2017). Pray for God’s wisdom upon all who gather and especially during the respective Boards as they meet. Pray for God’s anointing upon Dr Samuel Ong who will be sharing with all the participants the Vision Task Force’s direction for TRAC. Pray for journey mercies for all who will be attending this meeting.
Friday, (Sept 8) – Pray for the Nation: The nation will be celebrating the official birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong tomorrow, September 9, 2017. Pray for good health for the Agong, and for wisdom and boldness as he begins his 5-year term as Agong this year. Pray that he will rule the nation fairly and justly, and will speak up for truth and righteousness. Pray that he will have a heart for his subjects’ welfare, especially for the poor, and for the prosperity of the nation.
Saturday, (Sept 9) – Pray for the World: Six people were killed in Laos after following a cult that supposedly teaches about the Holy Spirit. Pray for God’s healing and comfort for the victims and their loved ones. Pray that the Lord will bring the cult leader to justice and for the deception to end. Pray that the Christians will be vigilant in seeking the truth as this incident has created bad publicity for Christians.
