Sunday, (Aug 26) – Praise Jesus that He is the Lord of the Sabbath. Pray that He will help us make every Sabbath about Him. Pray that He will quieten our hearts, give rest to our souls, and refocus our spirits, as true renewal comes only from Him. Pray that the Holy Spirit will help us to be intentional with how we spend our Sabbath day, and encourage us to find rest in Him alone. Pray that our Sabbaths will be days of refreshment, devotion and delight, where we will enjoy deeper relationships with the Lord and our families and friends. As God’s chosen people, pray that we will embrace the day of Sabbath Rest, remembering Him as our Creator and Redeemer.
Monday, (Aug 27) – Praise God that the youths are learning what it means to grow in unity as the family of God, and have been actively interacting with each other, and that they also want to spend quality time with the adults in church. Pray that the adults in church will give their full support to Come Hang Out With Us, the programme the Youth Committee has planned to bridge the generation gap between the youths and the adults. Pray that many of our adults will desire to get to know the youths better, and make time to spend some quality time with the youths so that both youths and adults will strengthen their relationships with one another.
Tuesday, (Aug 28) – Pray for the ongoing discipleship programmes in our church; XEE, Freedom in Christ (FIC) & Freed to Lead (FTL). Praise God for sustaining the students in XEE throughout the semester, which will be completed on Sunday, September 9, 2018. Pray that they will continue to use this tool of evangelism in their lives. Pray also that the participants in FIC & FTL will take hold of the truths they are learning, be able to resolve personal and spiritual conflicts and move on to maturity, and become fruitful disciples of Christ who will impact their homes and workplaces.
Wednesday, (Aug 29) – Rev Jerry Eng will be preaching in our church (Saturday Services only) on September 8, 15 & 22 on a 3-part expository sermon series on the theme, Christ Is Sufficiently Supreme And Supremely Sufficient For All Things. Pray for God’s anointing and wisdom upon Rev Jerry that what he preaches will be a word in season for Klang Wesley. Pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare the hearts and spirits of our people, that we will apply the principles we have learnt in our lives to the end that Christ indeed will be the Sufficiency in our lives.
Thursday, (Aug 30) – Pray for the Nation: As the nation celebrates its 61st Merdeka tomorrow, pray that all the celebrations will go smoothly. Praise God for all He has done for the nation this year. Praise God for His faithfulness to Malaysia. Pray that He will continue to grant guidance to the government to make wise and good decisions for the benefit of the nation, especially in the area of the economic situation. Pray that the government will continue to practice transparency, integrity, righteousness and justice for all. Pray for racial harmony and religious freedom to be enhanced in the nation.
Friday, (Aug 31) – Pray for TRAC: Pastor Ashok, as District Superintendent, begins his rounds of presiding over the Second Local Conferences in Central District 2 (CD2), starting from September 5, 2018. Pray for journey mercies as he travels to churches in CD2. Pray for God’s wisdom upon him, especially when he presides over these important meetings. Pray that the election process will run smoothly in each local church. Above all, pray for the love of Christ to keep the leaders united.
Saturday, (Sep 1) – Pray for the World: In some states in Nigeria, Christians are targeted and killed, and their churches are attacked. Pray that the Nigerian government will protect the Christians against these persecutions. Pray that the Christians will have grace to forgive the enemies who injure and kill them, destroy their property, and force them from their homes. Pray that God will provide for those who have lost everything and for the Holy Spirit to comfort and strengthen them.
