Sunday, (Aug 5) – Praise God that His Word is relevant for all eternity, and it is a living guide for our journey in this life. Pray that the Lord will a hunger and thirst for His Word. Pray that as we read the Bible, He will open our spiritual eyes to understand what we read in order to live a purposeful and God-glorifying life. Pray that as we read the Bible, the words will be planted deeply in our minds and hearts. Pray that the Lord will help us not forget what we have read, but meditate on it and obey it and so our lives will be built on the rock of His truth. Pray that the seeds from Scripture will bear real, noticeable fruit in our lives in tangible acts of sacrificial love for others.
Monday, (Aug 6) – Praise God for the 7 Orang Asli (OA) youths who were baptized last Sunday, July 29, 2018. Pray that they will be discipled by the 2 OA pastors, Pastor Reso & Pastor Norraini and be firmly rooted in their faith in Christ, and become His faithful disciples. Pray that God will grant wisdom to the 2 pastors to build up the OA Christians in Kg Kerchau & Kg Lalang, and to reach out to those who have yet to place their faith in Christ. Pray for the teams from our church that go weekly to the 2 OA villages, that their work among the OA adults, youths and children will bear lasting fruit. Pray also for God’s protection upon this OA ministry.
Tuesday, (Aug 7) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that the government will do everything in its power to ban and criminalize the evil practice of child marriage as it provides a license to paedophiles to prey on innocent children, especially girls. Pray that child marriage will not be sanctioned under any laws in Malaysia, be they religious or otherwise, and that any evidence of those pursuing any form of sexual or inappropriate behaviour with children will be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible under the law. Pray that the government will take steps to ban child marriage with immediate effect.
Wednesday, (Aug 8) – The Closing The Gap Workshop will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Pray for good response from our church members, especially the leaders, that they will give priority to attend this workshop. Pray for God’s wisdom upon the facilitator, Mr Duncan Ross, as he shares, especially on the 5-fold ministry of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher from Ephesians 4:11. Pray that our people will be motivated to be discipled and equipped to be effective followers of Christ to be a blessing to the church and the community.
Thursday, (Aug 9) – Pray for our youths, that in spite of all the worldly temptations and distractions, they will choose to be faithful to Christ, and be rooted and built up in Him. Pray that God will strengthen them to withstand temptation and help them see the way of escape that He has provided in every tempting situation. Pray that God will help them be pure in thought, knowing that temptation begins with their own desires. Pray that He will give them His power to resist addictions, greed, sensuality, dishonesty and peer pressure so they can make godly choices. Pray that the Lord will put into them a passion to pursue His things, and above all, a dynamic and lasting relationship with Him.
Friday, (Aug 10) – Pray for TRAC: There are 217 TRAC members attending the Methodist Prayer Convention in Sibu at the end of August, out of almost 3,700 registered people. Although this is a small percentage, pray that the TRAC contingent will be blessed by this Prayer Convention. Pray that the fires of revival will be fanned into flame by the Holy Spirit even after the Convention is over in all local Methodist Churches. Pray that churches will rise up and be a lighthouse and watchtower over the towns in Malaysia. Pray for journey mercies for those traveling to Sibu. Pray for the organizing committee. Pray for God’s strength and peace upon them as they organize this large event.
Saturday, (Aug 11) – Pray for the World: Afghanistan is the second hardest place in the world to follow Jesus. Pray that the Afghan believers will continue to follow God even in hardship, and be bold in their faith. Pray that in spite of the hard ground, the Gospel will take root in the lives of unbelievers.
