Prayer Points: December 16, 2018

Sunday (Dec 16) – Praise God for a fruitful Youthquake that ended on December 13. 2018, and for several youths who surrendered their lives to Christ as Saviour and Lord for the first time. Pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to deepen in the lives of the youths whatever they have learnt and experienced about grace and truth. Pray that the youths will be transformed to be more Christlike, and demonstrate God’s love to others in their attitudes, words, actions and lifestyle, thereby creating opportunities for them to share their testimony and the Gospel. Pray that God will mold these youths to be the leaders of His Church in the next generation.

Monday (Dec 17) – Praise God for His hand of protection and blessing over the preparations for the Christmas Drama. The final rehearsal will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018, after the Saturday service. Pray for good weather, and that everyone involved will be able to attend. Pray for everything to go smoothly – for good coordination between the actors, singers, dancers, musicians, sound & media personnel, and the production crew. Pray for a spirit of unity in the hearts of everyone, that the goal of everyone is to enthrone Jesus as King of kings. Pray also for good health for everyone.

Tuesday (Dec 18) – The Christmas drama will be held on Sunday night, December 23, 2018, as an outreach to the community. Pray that our church members will intercede for their pre-believing friends and relatives, so they will respond positively when invited. Pray for a good turn-out, fine weather, and smooth traffic flow. Pray that the Holy Spirit will move powerfully and convict many hearts. Pray for the seed of the Gospel to be sown in many lives. Pray against fear, pride and doubt, and that people who are touched by God’s love will have the courage to make a decision to commit their lives to Christ.

Wednesday (Dec 19) –. Pray for the Orang Asli (OA) Ministry in Klang Wesley. The OA committee is in search for suitable male OAs to be enrolled at the Hope Methodist Vocational Centre, Sitiawan for the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Course next year. Pray that at least 2 candidates will avail themselves to be trained and for their parents to agree to release them for this training course. Pray also for the OA pastors who will be recognised as full-time pastors / workers from 2019 onwards. Pray that they will carry out their responsibilities diligently.

Thursday (Dec 20) – Pray for the Nation: Praise God that Christians can freely celebrate the birth of Christ in our nation. Pray that in the midst of the commercialism, Christians will make use of this season to share with pre-believers the true meaning of Christmas, and help them understand the love of God who sent His Son to be born for us. Pray for God’s hand of protection over His people as the churches throughout the nation celebrate Christmas with special events and programmes. Pray that the Christmas celebrations will serve as a means to unite the various races in our nation.

Friday (Dec 21) – Pray for TRAC: Pastor James Ong (National Youth Director, TRAC), highlighted several areas of concern among some youths. These include LGBT, suicidal tendencies, the existence of God, depression and emotional breakdown. Pray that pastors and church leaders will be able to help the youths deal with these issues. Pray that the youths will value their relationship with God and earnestly seek God in all things, and keep their hearts and minds on God and the things of God. Pray that, as the youths go through the storms of life, they will always remember God’s promises and their identity as a child of God.

Saturday (Dec 22) – Pray for the World: Pray that as the world celebrates Christmas, the Prince of Peace will bring peace to many parts of the world that has been torn apart by war and conflict. Pray that the God of Hope will fill the hearts of His people throughout the world who are persecuted for their faith with strength and hope as they celebrate Christmas. Pray for the western nations that as they celebrate Christmas, they will not leave Christ, the heart and soul of Christmas, out of their celebrations.
