Prayer Points: June 9, 2019

Sunday, (Jun 9) – Pray for the Pentecost Sunday-Combined Churches Prayer Gathering, organized by the Klang & Port Klang Pastors’ Fellowship, that will be held tonight in Tamil Methodist Church. Pray for good weather and for good response from the Christians in Klang as we come together to commemorate and celebrate the day when God poured out His Holy Spirit upon His Church. Pray that as the people of God come in unity to worship God and seek Him in prayer, the spiritual atmosphere in the community will be transformed. Pray for God’s anointing upon all those who will be leading in the worship and prayers.

Monday, (Jun 10) – Pray that we will surrender all our fears to God, and that He will help us to maintain the faith we have in Him, being confident that even at our weakest and darkest hour, He holds us in the palm of His hands. Pray that God will help us to always remember that our faith relies on believing in Christ and His Word, not in what we see or feel. Pray that during those times when our feelings mislead us into negative thinking, the Lord will give us strength to pray even when we do not feel to do so, and to focus on what is true, pure and lovely.

Tuesday, (Jun 11) – Pray for the Cell Group Leaders’ Meeting that will be held tomorrow, June 12, 2019. Pray that it will be an encouraging and refreshing time for all the Cell Leaders as they meet. Praise God for the faithfulness of the Cell Leaders in leading their Cell Groups. Pray that they will always seek to remain in Christ, the Vine, for strength and wisdom, and that God will bear fruit through their lives and ministry for His glory. Pray that through their leadership the Cell Groups will grow in their knowledge of God through His Word, through the practice of prayer, and through seeing His image reflected in other members.

Wednesday, (Jun 12) – Pray for the Nation: Human rights lawyer and Lawyer’s for Liberty executive director, Latheefa Koya has been appointed as Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner effective June 1, 2019 for 2 years. Pray for courage, wisdom and protection upon her, given the enormous responsibilities she is taking on. Pray that through her leadership, the agency will be transformed into a top-class anti-corruption body. Pray also for wisdom upon the new government to always uphold the Federal Constitution, as there were certain reservations over the selection review process of the new MACC head.

Thursday, (Jun 13) –. The FIC (Freedom In Christ) Disciple Course will begin on June, 23, 2019. This is a 10-session multi-media small group course that communicates the life-changing message of Freedom in Christ to the millennial generation in their own language, helping them to take hold of their freedom, to know who they are in Christ, to resolve spiritual issues, and be transformed. Pray that our church members, especially the young adults, will make it a priority to come for the course. Pray that those who have attended FIC courses before will also sign up.

Friday, (Jun 14) – Pray for TRAC: Pastor Luke Ng has recently been appointed as Assistant Pastor of Canning Garden Methodist Church & Grace Methodist Church in Ipoh. He has completed his Bachelor of Theology and has also accounting background. Pray that he adjusts well as a first time TRAC pastor. Pray that the other TRAC pastors in both these churches will give him good guidance in his ministry responsibilities. Pray that God will always be his strength and stay for long haul ministry. Pray also that there will be more young people who will heed the call to enter full time pastoral ministry in the years ahead.

Saturday, (Jun 15) – Pray for the World: The Vietnamese government is becoming stricter and many churches do not feel free to worship. Pray that God will comfort and embolden His people, and that their faith will continue to grow. Pray that the Lord will grant Christian workers creativity and wisdom as they minister in areas of persecution.
