Sunday, (Mar 10) – Pray that God will give us a heart of compassion like that of Jesus. Pray that He will give us the heart to be interested in the troubles and suffering of people around us, and provide for us the means to help them. Pray that the Lord will help us understand the needs of others, and keep a critical and condemning spirit far from our hearts, and further from our lips. Pray that we will serve others with joyful hearts, never keeping score, always giving, never expecting to receive. Pray that we will serve as Jesus served, with gentleness, compassion, and tenderness. Pray that the overflow of His love for us will enable us to love the people around us, especially those who have yet to know Him as Savior and Lord. Pray that our love for them will draw them to the Savior who loves them.
Monday, (Mar 11) – The 40 days of Lent began last Wednesday. Pray that our church members will walk through this season intentionally, removing distractions that take our gaze away from Christ. Pray that we will purposefully quiet the noise that pulls us from spending time in His presence, that puts our attention on lesser things. Pray that we will not only give things up for Lent, but that we will give glory through Lent through all that we say and do during this season. Pray that these weeks leading up to the tragedy of Good Friday and the glory of Easter will remind us of who God is, how He loves us, and who He has created us to be as His followers.
