Sunday, (May 19) – As the Bible teaches us that life and death is in the power of the tongue, pray that we will choose to take responsibility for what we say, and that our words will encourage, motivate, edify and build up the people we come into contact with each day. Pray that God will help us to put a guard over our mouths when we are about to say something we should not say, to deliberately change our negative words, and intentionally transform them into words that bring life, no matter what challenges are placed before us.
Monday, (May 20) – Pray for the World: The official results of the Indonesian Presidential elections will be out on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. According to the unofficial counts and the on-going official tallying, President Joko Widodo has been re-elected, but the losing candidate, Prabowo, has already begun agitations to protest what he alleges as electoral fraud. Pray against all attempts at rioting and agitation to stir up trouble, and against any possible terrorist attacks. Pray that the those who lost in the elections will graciously accept the official results. Pray that all spiritual attacks by the powers of darkness and manipulations by bomohs / witchdoctors will be nullified by God. Pray that Joko Widodo’s government will rule with integrity, justice and compassion.
Tuesday, (May 21) – Pray for the Fresh Encounter With The Holy Spirit Seminar that will be held tomorrow night (May 22, 2019). Pray for good weather and people from our church, as well as from others churches, to come. Pray that the Lord Jesus will be exalted in our midst, and for the outpouring of His presence to refresh renew, re-fire, and encourage everyone spiritually. Pray for a mighty manifestation of the Holy Spirit’s power as the people are being ministered to. Pray for God’s covering, anointing and empowering upon Pastor Dr Bernard Teh and his team.
Wednesday, (May 22) – Pray for the Nation: The media recently highlighted the arrest of terrorists in Malaysia who wanted to set off bombs in prominent places in the nation, including tertiary colleges and religious buildings. Pray that all plans by terrorists to bring willful harm on people and property will be nullified. Pray for wisdom to be upon the police and special intelligence of Malaysia to arrest people with ill intentions by the means of terrorism. Pray that children will be spared from being trained as terrorists, especially if done in the name of religion.
Thursday, (May 23) – Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance upon the Church Camp committee as the members look into the room arrangements, camp schedule & activities, assigning worship leaders & devotion leaders, transportation, and other last-minute details and preparations. Pray for the camp speaker, Pastor Benny Ho, for God’s anointing upon him, as he prepares the teaching sessions. Pray that the Holy Spirit will prepare the hearts of the people that they will respond positively to the sessions. Pray also that all the campers will come for the briefing on May 25 / 26 (Saturday / Sunday).
Friday, (May 24) – Pray for TRAC: The Eastern District wishes to link with Central Districts 1 & 2 to get their help in resources and people to minister in the Eastern District churches. A meeting is being planned between the District Superintendents of Eastern District & Central District 2 toward this end, specifically to help Kuantan Wesley and Orang Asli work among the Jakun. Pray for a successful meeting. Pray that plans formulated will translate into action. Pray for Rev Thomas Chin, the Eastern District Superintendent, and the pastors there, namely Rev Bernard Lazar and Rev Eric Hue.
Saturday, (May 25) – Pray for a spiritual awakening in the Christian Fellowships (CFs) in the schools in Klang. Pray that God will raise up Christian students in the schools who are passionate about their faith to lead these CFs, and their enthusiasm will attract pre-believing students to join the CFs. Pray for Christian teacher advisors who are willing to invest their time in the CFs. Pray that the heads of schools will be supportive of the CFs, recognising that the Education Ministry has given them permission to exist.
