Sunday, (May 5) – Pray that God will make our lives good soil that will result in godly living and a fruitful life. Pray that He will remove any areas in our lives that hinder us from being fruitful for Him. Pray that the Lord will keep us from walking in the counsel of ungodly men and women; that we will keep away from the path of sinners and not be influenced by those that scorn the truth of God’s Word. Pray that we will delight in God’s Word and meditate on its truths day and night. Pray that we will grow in grace and mature in the faith, by coming to know the Lord Jesus more and more intimately, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit working within us, we may live fruitful lives that honour the Lord.
Monday, (May 6)– Pray for the Nation: Pray that the rakyat will defend the Federal Constitution so that all the fundamental rights of all citizens will be upheld, the racial polarization reduced, and religious freedom be preserved. Pray that the government will seek to uphold the principle of equal citizenship rights for all Malaysians. Pray against all efforts made at asserting ethnic and religious supremacy which can lead to insecurities and tension between the various races in the nation.
Tuesday, (May 7) – Pray for the Church of God worldwide. All the natural disasters and senseless violent attacks upon innocent people point to the reality that the return of Christ is imminent as God has warned us in His Word. Pray that believers globally will wake from their spiritual apathy. Pray that they will be alert to the lies and deception of the enemy to be enticed by selfish deseries and worldliness. Pray too that God will protect His people all over the world from harm when they congregate to worship Him. Pray that His divine presence will saturate all places of worship, and His people will be blessed.
Wednesday, (May 8) – The Sunday School will be having their annual outing on Saturday, May 11, 2019, and the children will be visiting the Yakult Factory in Seremban. As the destination is quite a distance away, pray for journey mercies and safety for all the children and adults who will be going. Pray that the programme planned will run smoothly and there will not be any unnecessary delays. As there will be children and parents from pre-believing homes who will also be going, pray that our people will be able to connect well with them and get to know them better. Pray for good weather, and for everyone to have a good and fun time.
Thursday, (May 9) – The Blood Donation Campaign will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 10am to 3pm, organized by the Community Services Committee in our church. The National Blood Centre has been urging Malaysians to donate blood as much as possible because it is important to keep our blood bank full at all times. Hence, pray that many people will respond to this need, especially our church members. Pray that non-church people will also come, and our members will use this as an opportunity to connect with them. Pray for God’s protection and blessing upon this event, as well as the free health screening that will be held simultaneously.
Friday, (May 10) – Pray for TRAC: Pray for Segamat Wesley. Pray for both the Chinese and Tamil ministries in the church. The church begins a 17-week Mandarin Alpha course after Easter with the cooperation of other churches in Segamat. Pray that God will bless this project and people will be won for Christ. Segamat Wesley also got the help of Pastor Easudas Joseph and his church member from a Baptist church in Melaka to assist in the Tamil ministry in Segamat. Pray for good fruit from the efforts that have been put in. Pray for Rev Woo Kit Sang and Sister Soh Kit as they serve the Lord in Segamat Wesley.
Saturday, (May 11) – Pray for the World: Some areas of China have high illiteracy rates which limits access to the Bible. Pray that God’s Word will be translated into an audio version for illiterate Chinese Christians. Pray also for the ongoing work to translate the New Testament into a Buddhist script.
