Prayer Points: November 4, 2018

Sunday, (Nov 4) – Pray that God will forgive us for the times when we have ignored Him, and depended on our own strength to do things our own way; for believing that we have to be hard and domineering if we want to get ahead in life; and when we have used our power selfishly or aggressively, ignoring that indwelling, Christ-given power which frees us to be vulnerable. Pray that we will learn to boast all the more in our inabilities, so that Christ’s power will be manifested in our lives for His glory. Pray that God will permeate our lives with His grace, and fill us with the knowledge that it is when we allow ourselves to be empowered by Him that we are truly strong.

Monday, (Nov 5) – Pray for the World: In Pakistan, a Christian woman who was sentenced to death for blasphemy was released, and extremist groups have announced that they will attack Christian institutions. These extremists have taken to the streets to protest and cause havoc. Pray for God’s protection upon His people in Pakistan. Pray for courage and wisdom for the new Prime Minister and his government to take steps against extremism and such kind of violent protesters, and to come up with a permanent solution.

Tuesday, (Nov 6) – The LCEC will be having planning sessions for 2019 on Friday & Saturday (November 9 & 10, 2018). Pray that all members of the LCEC will be able to attend these planning sessions. Pray for a spirit of unity and love to prevail. Pray that our leaders will be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit as they make plans for the year ahead, so that everything that is planned for 2019 will be according to the sovereign will of God, and not the will of man.

Wednesday, (Nov 7) – The Mission Faith Pledge 2019 will be presented during the worship services this weekend, November 10 & 11, 2018. The Missions Committee’s organisation support for 2019 will go towards missions organisations, El-Shaddai Refugee Learning Centre, Missions Outreach in Sarawak, financial support for a school for Penan children, for East Malaysian pastors, and for Asrama Harapan Baru, a student hostel in Sabah, as well as other causes. Pray that our church members will respond generously, financially and also with their prayers, thus reflecting the missional heart of God.

Thursday, (Nov 8) – Praise God that around 45 people have signed up for the Parenting Teens Talk on Sunday, November 11, 2018. Pray that more people – parents or guardians of teenagers, and also those involved in youth work, will also come for the talk. Pray for God’s anointing upon the speaker, Pastor Damien Chua, so that he will be able to help the participants understand more about the psyche of the 21st century teenager. Pray that the participants will be blessed by the talk, and be able to connect better with teenagers as they apply what they have learnt in the talk.

Friday, (Nov 9) – Pray for TRAC: Several TRAC pastors are taking time off before the 43rd Session TRAC (November 24-26, 2018) to spend personal time away with God and from the busyness of life. Pray that they will find refreshment from God and draw closer to Him in times ahead. Pray for pastors who take time off to holiday with their families that God will provide financially for the holidays. Pray also that God will bring family members closer to each other. Pray especially that pastors’ wives will be renewed and refreshed, and sense the love from their husbands and family members.

Saturday, (Nov 10) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that the new federal and state governments will be stabilised, and that God will curtail any unhealthy politicking. Pray that the politicians will focus on rebuilding the nation. Pray for God’s forgiveness for past mistakes, and for guidance and wisdom for the future. Pray for a new vision for Malaysia – a clean and fair government, end of corruption, restoration of the legal system, rejuvenation of the economy, and an increase of the freedom of religion in the country.
