Prayer Points: October 21, 2018

Sunday, (Oct 21) – Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field. Pray that we will be salt and light in our community. Pray that God will give us a heart for the lost, and that busy schedules, insular lives and lack of neighbourliness will not hinder us from sharing the Gospel. Pray that God will give us ways to build caring relationships with pre-believers, and for wisdom, empowerment and confidence to tell others about Jesus at the appropriate time. Pray for pre-believers, that the Lord will set them free from spiritual captivity, open their spiritual eyes, give them ears to hear, give them faith to believe, and the will to respond to the Gospel.

Monday, (Oct 22) – Praise God for the Second Local Conference of Klang Wesley that was held last week. Thank God that everything went off smoothly, and praise Him for all the leaders who will be serving next year. Pray that their minds, hearts and conduct will be pure. Pray that they will be peace-loving, gentle, impartial, sincere, and full of good fruit, always leading by example. Above all, pray that our leaders will always lead out of a deep relationship with Christ, depending on His grace and wisdom at all times. Pray also for the families of all church leaders, that they will be blessed as they share their loved one with the church.

Tuesday, (Oct 23) – Pray for all the on-going ministries in the church: XEE Semester 18, Freedom In Christ Discipleship Course, Freed To Lead Course, Adult & Youth Baptism and Membership Classes. Praise God for all those who are involved in these courses as participants, facilitators and teachers. Pray that God will empower the participants to be faithful in attendance, to be alert during the classes, and understand what they are learning. Pray for God’s strength and wisdom upon the facilitators and teachers. Pray that everyone will move on to spiritual maturity, and grow as faithful disciples of Christ.

Wednesday, (Oct 24) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that God will bring inner healing to Malaysian Christians, that they will be delivered from anger, frustration, bitterness and sometimes even hatred towards others, so that we can intentionally reach out in love to all our fellow Malaysians irrespective of race, creed or social standing. Pray that God will use the Malaysian Church to harness racial and religious harmony in our nation even as Christians relate with grace and kindness to all people.

Thursday, (Oct 25) – The VBS Fund Raising will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Praise God for all the people who so willingly give their time and their culinary skills to contribute various kinds of food to be sold; for those who will be selling plants grown in their own gardens; for the buskers who will sing and entertain for donations; for the Sunday School kids who made bookmarks to be sold. Pray that our church members will give their full support, and that sufficient funds will be raised to support underprivileged children to attend VBS 2018.

Friday, (Oct 26) – Pray for TRAC: Many TRAC churches will be having planning retreats in November to plan for the year ahead. Pray that the leaders of individual churches will be sensitive to the leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit. Pray that their plans will translate into action in 2019, and that stronger relationships will be established between the leaders and the people.

Saturday, (Oct 27) – Pray for the World: Pray for God’s blessing and protection on Christian children living in places where the law bans them from going to church or learning about Jesus. Pray that children in Tajikistan, parts of China, and other parts of the world will learn to love and trust Jesus. Pray that they will grow in faith, grace and knowledge of the God they worship. Pray for wisdom for their parents and church leaders to know how to teach, guide and inspire them to walk closely with Jesus, and to have the grace and strength to endure any harassment and persecution they may face at school.
