Prayer Points: October 6, 2019

Sunday, (Oct 6) – Praise God that He is a covenant-making and promise-keeping God, and that people from every nation, tribe, and tongue will one day gather together at the throne of God to worship Him. Pray that we will faithfully partner with God in our prayers, our giving and our going to accomplish His mission. Pray that the Lord will raise more labourers of the Gospel within all nations, so that the Good News they deliver will enrich the poor in spirit, heal the broken-hearted, deliver those held captive to sin, bring recovery of sight to the spiritually blind and set at liberty those that are bruised. Pray that God will open the minds of unbelievers to see the illuminating light of Christ, and cause their hearts to be receptive to His Gospel.

Monday, (Oct 7) – Pray for the Nation: The Parliament will be in session from today to December 5, 2019. Pray for a spirit of unity to prevail, and that the Members of Parliament will be focused on doing their best for the peace and prosperity of the nation. Pray that God will grant them wisdom for good, just and righteous laws to be implemented that will benefit all citizens, regardless of race and religion. Pray for the tabling of the 2020 Budget on Friday, October 11, 2019. Pray that it will be a compassionate budget at such a time of global shaking from trade wars and political upheavals. Pray that the needs of the lower income groups will not be neglected or marginalized.

Tuesday, (Oct 8) – The 28th TRAC MSF Annual Camp 2019 will be held in Port Dickson from October 8 -10, 2019. Pray for all the senior adults going for the camp, for God’s hand of protection upon them, and that He will grant them good health throughout the camp. Pray for the camp speaker, Rev Dr Ng Swee Ming, for God’s wisdom and anointing upon him, so that his messages will edify and encourage the seniors. Pray that the participants will be blessed spiritually, and will renew their relationship with Christ. Pray for good weather, warm fellowship, and journey mercies for everyone.

Wednesday, (Oct 9) – Pray for TRAC: Pray for Emmanuel Methodist Church, PJ, for their 2nd Local Conference on October 10, 2019. Pray that the election of office bearers for 2020 will run smoothly, and the people elected will continue to trust God fully in the year ahead. Pray especially for the new leaders elected to serve in 2020. Pray also for the LCEC Planning Retreat on October 18-19, 2019. Pray for unity in heart and mind, and the plans formulated will be carried out in 2020. Pray also for someone good and suitable to apply for the vacant position of Chinese Ministry worker.

Thursday, (Oct 10) – The Methodist Women (MW) Annual General Meeting will be held on October 12, 2019. Pray for this important meeting, especially since there will be elections this time. Pray for God’s purpose to be realized in MW in the next 12 months, and that more younger women will attend MW events in the future. Pray for God’s love and unity to be manifested among all members of the MW – both locally and nationally.

Friday, (Oct 11) – Pray for the World: Pray that North Korean Christians who have fled to China will be equipped and strengthened in their faith, and will find safe places to live. Pray for God’s hand of protection upon the believers who have remained in the country, that He will provide for their needs. Pray that they will be able to continue to come together to worship God, and grow strong in His Word, so they will stand strong in their faith in spite of all the difficulties they face.

Saturday, (Oct 12) – The youths and adults will be going for the Come, Hang out With Us event, organized by the Youth Ministry, tomorrow, October 13, 2019. Pray that the goal of bridging the generation gap, and promoting unity between the youths and adults will be achieved as they spend time together. Pray that both the youths and adults will learn to open up to one another, and they will get connected as they get to know more about each other. Pray that this event will foster closer bonds between the youths and adults.
