Sunday, (Sep 23) – Pray that God will teach us to love the elderly as He loves them. Pray that He will open our eyes and our hearts to reach out to an aged relative, friend, or neighbour, to spend time with them, and to share God’s love with them. Pray for those who are taking care of aged family member(s) for patience, wisdom and an understanding heart. Pray that God will give them strength and grace to lovingly tend to needs of their aged family member, and to have the wisdom to take time out to tend to their own physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Pray that the Lord will help them see that spending time with their aged family member(s) is a privilege and a blessing, and not a burden.
Monday, (Sep 24) – Pray for the Nation: At present, our nation has different needs: integrating the national governance concepts, reducing the national debts, promoting parliamentary reform, amending the judicial system, reorganizing the administrative system, restructuring the education system, and strengthening ethnic inclusion / racial harmony. Pray that God will bless all our national leaders to cooperate sincerely, and to guide the country in a direction that is far-reaching and pragmatic.
Tuesday, (Sep 25) – Pray that the 3 Orang Asli (OA) pastors who are serving in Kg Kechau and Carey Island respectively will settle in well in the villages, that they will be well loved and given full support from the villagers they are ministering to, and that they will carry out all their pastoral duties effectively. Praise God for the weekly home visitations and cell group meetings. Pray that more families will participate in these programmes. Pray for the OA community as a whole that the people will grow stronger in their Christian walk and be willing to improve themselves in the areas of education for their children and economic sustenance for their families.
Wednesday, (Sep 26) – The Birds & Bees Camp, organized by Sungai Way-Subang Methodist Church will be held on September 28-30, 2018. This is a camp for children aged 12, to help them know the Biblical perspective of sex, and be cautious about the people in the internet among other topics. Pray for protection for all the participants, facilitators and helpers attending the camp. Pray that the children will be blessed by what they learn as they enter into their teenage years. Pray also that this will be an opportunity for children from pre-believing homes to encounter Christ.
Thursday, (Sep 27) – The Youth Baptism & Membership Class will begin on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Pray for all the youths who have signed up for the class will make it a priority to attend the weekly classes. Pray that the Holy Spirit will grant them understanding as they learn about the foundations of their faith. Pray also for the other on-going programmes: Freed To Lead & XEE Semester 18 on Sundays, and Freedom In Christ Discipleship Course on Fridays. Pray that the participants of all these programmes will be blessed, and be able to apply what they have learnt in their lives.
Friday, (Sep 28) – Pray for TRAC: The Hope Methodist Vocational Centre was established in Sitiawan to train youths and men in the area of air-conditioning systems and refrigeration systems. The next semester will run from October 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019. Pray that God will bless this centre that wants not only to teach technical skills to young men, but also develop their lives wholistically, especially in the spiritual side. Pray that this centre will grow, and that there will be sufficient capable leaders and teachers in the future.
Saturday, (Sep 29) – Pray for the World: The South Korean government has clamped down on Christian ministries sending Bibles and Scriptural materials into North Korea. The ban was introduced just before the summit meeting between North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un & US President Trump in June 2018. Pray that the materials already in North Korea will continue to be circulated and will bring many to faith in Christ. Pray that God will open up others ways for the Gospel to be proclaimed in the nation.
