Prayer Points: September 29, 2019

Sunday, (Sep 29) – Praise God that even while things on earth and in heaven are being shaken, we are receiving a Kingdom which cannot be shaken, and which lasts for all eternity, where Jesus rules as King. Thank God for making us the people of His eternal Kingdom. Pray that God will shake the foundations of our lives and move us from resting in ourselves to relying on Him. Pray that in the midst of all the shaking and turbulence, He will help us stand firm in our faith. Pray that we will be committed to God’s Kingdom, and use our time, energy, influence and efforts towards advancing God’s Kingdom, planting the Kingdom’s seeds of peace, love and justice by what we say and how we live.

Monday, (Sep 30) – The XEE Semester 19 will begin on Sunday, October 6, 2019, and will be held over 7 Sundays. Pray that people will join the semester, even if they have joined some time back, and need a refresher’s course. Pray that the sessions will broaden their understanding of God, and renew their faith, so they can overcome their fear of sharing the Gospel, and be able to share it with confidence. Pray that people will get involved by serving as trainers, prayer partners and facilitators. Pray for commitment and dependence upon the Holy Spirit to see them through the semester successfully.

Tuesday, (Oct 1) – The Youth Ministry will be organising the Come, Hang Out With Us activity on October 13, 2019. The goal of the activity is for the youths to connect with the adults that they might get to know each other better. Even as the adults in the church have been financially supporting the youths in their fund-raising projects, pray that they will be willing to spend quality time with the youths. Pray that this time of hanging out together will foster better understanding, bridge the generation gap, and promote greater unity between the youths and adults in the church.

Wednesday, (Oct 2) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that the Church in Malaysia will persevere in prayer for the government leaders to stay steadfast on the long road of recovery to bring the nation back on the path of God’s justice, righteousness and compassion for the underprivileged; and for wisdom and strength to rebuild and restore the nation’s broken systems. Pray that Christians will not give in to negativity and despair, but know that by our persistent and humble prayers, God will heal our land.

Thursday, (Oct 3) – Pray for Wesley Methodist School Klang. Pray for good health for the students as many of them have been falling sick. Pray that the students will work diligently as they prepare for the year-end examinations. As the school is looking out for 3 more teachers, pray that God will send them good and effective teachers. Pray that the teachers in the school will be committed to do their best for the students. Pray for an increase in the enrolment in 2020 – at least 50 new students, as many will be leaving after the SPM examinations. Pray that the Christian activities in the school will impact the students, and many of them will give their lives to Christ as their Saviour and Lord

Friday, (Oct 4) – Pray for TRAC: DUMC has launched “After 7”, which is a time for food, fun and fellowship, to be held once a month immediately after the first Saturday worship service of the month. Food trucks are stationed within the car park and the place is made conducive for eating dinner and enjoying friendship with one another. The church has put a strong emphasis in inviting non-Christian families and friends to connect with and build relationships. The average numbers are 350 persons. Pray that through this new venture, church members will invite their friends over for dinner, and ultimately that people who do not know Jesus will put their trust in Him as Saviour and Lord.

Saturday, (Oct 5) – Pray for the World: Praise God for the spread of the Gospel in Saudi Arabia, that the Holy Spirit is actively bringing Saudi people to put their trust in Jesus even though they could face persecution. Praise God too, for the many faithful believers from other countries living and working in Saudi Arabia who gather to worship even though they could be arrested. Pray that God will protect and strengthen His people to be faithful, and for the Gospel to reach more people in Saudi Arabia.
