Sunday Morning Worship Service – 6th April 2025

Speaker: Rev Gaurri Maniam
Sermon Title: God’s Omniscience
Scripture Text: Daniel 11: 1 – 35

YouTube player

Introduction

What is the definition of Biblical prophecy?
In the biblical context, prophecy refers to God’s communication of His will and purpose to humanity.

Explanation

The prophecy in Daniel 11: 1 – 35 shows is that God is all-knowing. He is Omniscient.

Prophecies are God’s gift to the people of God.

Prophecies not only prepares the people for what is about to happen but it also brings hope and assurance that God will take them through it.

Resistance is defined as having the ability to oppose, withstand or refrain from yielding towards ungodly influences or temptations.

God refines his people? He uses trials and difficulties to refine and purify our character.

Final Word
Let us not lose heart for God is with us.

Reflection Question
1. How does the understanding of God knowing us deeply and intimately affect you?
2. Besides reading the Word of God, how can you grow in your knowledge of who God is?
3. Recall the time when God refined you through trials and difficulties? How was God present with you?

Sunday Morning Worship Service – 23rd March 2025

Speaker: Ms Taeko Funaoka
Sermon Title: Confession of Sin and Restoration
Scripture Text: Daniel 9

YouTube player

Introduction

God assured Daniel through the visions in chapter 7 and 8, that He will establish His everlasting kingdom through the Son of Man. He will ultimately restore His people and His temple.

In chapter 9, we find Daniel turning to the Lord in an intense prayer. What motivated him to this prayer?

1. Preparation for prayer (vv1-3)

God’s promise through Jeremiah motivated Daniel to pray to the Lord – confessing the sins of people and pleading for God’s mercy (Jeremiah 25:11-12; 29:10, Deuteronomy 28:1-2,15,64; 30:1-3).

2. Daniel’s prayer (vv4-19)

– Daniel affirms who God is. He acknowledges and confesses the
sins of Israel.
– Daniel represents the people in his prayer.
– Daniel appeals for God’s mercy.

3. Answer for Daniel’s prayer (vv20-27)

The vision includes a time frame and the events that will take place during that time. The numbers may be symbolical and intended to be an idea.

‘seven’/weeks = period of seven days or years

God answered with assurance and also with warning.
Ultimately there will be the eradication of evil and the establishment of righteousness (v24).

Conclusion & Reflection

May we remain faithful to God even in the midst of uncertainty in our lives, confessing our sins and interceding for the world.

If the Holy Spirit leads you to confess things in your life that are not pleasing to God, you may speak to God and seek for His forgiveness.
God is faithful, just and forgiving (1 John 1:9)
