Explanation
To Trust is to have a posture of reliance.

To Trust is to have a posture of devotion on God. (vv. 3 – 6)

To Trust is to have a posture of teachability.
(vv. 7 & 8)

Final Word
To Trust in the Lord is to ultimately experience joy and gladness in our hearts.

1. In which area of your life do you struggle to give God the absolute authority? Why?
2. How can you remain devoted to God in the marketplace or wherever God has placed you?
3. How submissive are you to the counsel of God? Explain your response.

It is a transition from a place of discouragement and despair to a place of trust and hope.

David laments to God. (vv. 1 & 2)

David cries out to God desperately. (vv. 3 & 4)

David declares his hope in God. (vv. 5 & 6)

Final Word
God will meet us in our discouragements and enlighten our hearts.

Reflection Question
1. Have you ever expressed your discouragements and disappointments to God? Recall the time when you lamented “How long, O Lord?”
2. Examine your prayers, are you able to be vulnerable before God?
3. In the midst of your discouragements, are you able to declare your hope in God?
