Sunday, (Jan 1) – Christ is the head of the church and we are the body. Pray that the Lord will once again fill us with the same love and passion as the early believers in the early church. Pray that the Lord will give us persistent hunger for His Word so that our lives may be transformed to be Christlike. Pray that we as a community of God’s people in Klang Wesley will be devoted to prayer. Pray also that we will be devoted to one another by loving caring for one another. Pray that God would use Klang Wesley as a beacon of light to those who have yet to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Monday, (Jan 2) – Sunday School & Youth – The children and youth ministry are challenging and important ministries of the church. Pray that through the Sunday School & Youth ministry, we may help our younger generation to grow in the love and knowledge of God. Pray for all Sunday School teachers and as well as our Youth Counselors. Pray that the joy of the Lord will be their strength as they serve continually every week. Pray that our Sunday School teachers and youth counselors will grow in their personal walk with God as they help the younger ones to grow.

Tuesday, (Jan 3) – Pray for the church to cultivate a posture of thanksgiving to God for his faithfulness and goodness in previous years, and for God’s peace and love to strengthen his people’s faith as they enter a new year. Pray that the New Year will be focused on total obedience to the Lord, allowing him to do a new thing in the lives of his people by pressing on toward the prize of God’s upward call in Christ Jesus. Pray for a New Year’s start in 2023 that will renew our faith as a new creation in Christ and our love for God and His people.

Wednesday, (Jan 4) – Pray for the Nation: Thank God for the unity government, and pray for God’s blessings and favour on our rulers, the Prime Minister and his newly appointed cabinet ministers, as they navigate the country out of the current crisis. Pray for our Prime Minister so that he can continue to strengthen the unity government, and that good and close cooperation from his ministers will allow him to accelerate the implementation of his institutional reforms for the benefit of the nation and rakyat. Pray for God’s protection for our health system’s frontliners and rakyat, and follow our Health DG’s advice to get a booster of Covid-19 vaccine in light of China’s decision to reopen its border on January 8, 2023.

Thursday, (Jan 5) – TRAC – The TRAC Board of Ministry would be meeting on 13th of January 2023. Pray for Rev. Ashok Amarasingam who is the chairman of the Board of Ministry, as he leads this board. Pray for God’s wisdom to be upon the Board of Ministry as they address issues such as a shortage of pastors in TRAC. Commit also to the Lord all District Superintendents in TRAC, pray for God’s guidance to be with them as they carry this conference responsibility on top of pastoring churches.

Friday, (Jan 6) – Pray for children, parents, guardians and teachers as school resumes this week. Pray that after the weeks of holidays, they are readjusting smoothly to their regular schedule with schools and other activities. Pray for God’s protection upon their journey to and from school and wherever they need to go. Pray that the children are able to concentrate well in class. Pray that God will bestow His grace, strength, wisdom and patience upon the teachers, parents and guardians as they lead the children in the right directions.

Saturday (Jan 7) – Pray for Afghanistan. Pray for God’s mercy and intervention upon the nation, particularly in light of recent measures taken by its authorities to ban women from obtaining higher education and working for NGOs. Pray that the fundamental human rights of the people to be protected in the country. Pray for the recognition that both men and women are essential in their roles to contribute to the needs, growth and development of the society.

Sunday, (Dec 25) – On this Christmas Day, may we remember the way and the manner in which our Lord Jesus came to earth. Pray that we will truly grasp the love of God who was willing to send His one and only begotten Son to earth. Pray that on this Christmas Day, we may renew our commitment to follow Jesus all the days of our lives. Pray that we be assured of God’s presence in our lives for Jesus is our Immanuel, God with us! Pray also that we would allow the presence of Christ to mold us and make us more like Jesus.

Monday, (Dec 26) – Commit to the Lord the upcoming Watchnight Service and as well as the All Night Prayer. Pray also for the Sunday Service (1st Jan). Pray that as we come together for these services, our hearts may be renewed and strengthen for the coming year. Pray that as we reflect on the year 2022, we would come to a realization of how God had been present in our lives. As God continues to be present in our lives each day and moment, pray that we will grow in our trust in Him as we enter into 2023.

Tuesday, (Dec 27) – Pray for health authorities to be vigilant of another Covid pandemic, given the dangers of the mutation and the difficulties of long Covid recovery. Pray for the churches to take the lead in bringing healing and reconciliation to a fractured nation, beginning with our relationships in the church to foster genuine unity and love for one another. Pray for a new hunger for God’s Word and diligent discipleship in order for lukewarm and backslidden Christians to grow into spiritual maturity in total obedience to the Lord’s commandments.

Wednesday, (Dec 28) – Pray for the Nation: Pray for God’s protection and early preparation in the most vulnerable areas of states such as Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak, as higher-than-average rainfall is expected due to the La Nina phenomenon, which can lead to more thunderstorms, floods, and even landslides. Continue to pray for the ongoing rescue search for victims still trapped in the recent Batang Kali landslide, as well as comfort for bereaved families who have lost loved ones. Pray against any advocacy of national, racial, or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility, or violence and threatens the legacy of multiculturalism that values compassion, kindness, acceptance, and inclusivity.

Thursday, (Dec 29) – TRAC – Commit to the Lord all pastors who would be going on transfer in 2023. As they come to the final week in their current parishes, pray that God will help them to move on to their next station well. Pray that friendships fostered will remain in the coming years. Pray also for all TRAC Churches that as we enter into the New Year, we may enter knowing that God is already there in the future for He is the God who is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13: 8).

Friday, (Dec 30) – We give thanks to God for His faithful providence throughout the year 2022. May we take a moment to think about His guidance, grace and love for us during this year. May we come before Him with repentance for the things we have done to grieve Him, and receive His mercy and forgiveness. May we continue to trust His Sovereignty upon the things that He has allowed or not allowed to happen in our lives this year. May His Spirit fill us with a renewed love and passion for Him, and we may continue to depend on Him and remain in His love to be His disciple in the new year 2023, too.

Saturday (Dec 31) – Pray for the world. Pray for God’s intervention and His peace upon the war-torn and conflict areas. Pray for the Hope of His deliverance and restoration in the lives of those who are unwell, in despair, oppressed and marginalized. Pray for His Love and Joy of salvation to be experienced in a heart of every person. May God strengthen and make His Church an instrument of His peace as in the prayer of St. Francis, “…Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is an injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, joy….”
