This Week’s Prayer: 4th – 5th June 2022

Heavenly Father,

in whom we live and move and have our being, forgive us for the many times we have grieved or quenched Your work in our lives.

Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.

Renew a right spirit within us.

Breathe into us your freshness and empower us with the wind and tongues of fire of the Holy Spirit.

Guide and govern us that in all the cares and occupations of our daily life we may learn to listen to the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit’s voice, as we read Your Word or commune with You in prayer.

Awaken our spiritual fervor that only comes from you. In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Prayer List: 4th – 5th June 2022

Sunday, (Jun 5) – Praise the Lord for His faithfulness in keeping His promise to send the Holy Spirit to his disciples and believers, as they gathered and waited together with one accord in one place, sharing the same love and trust in the Lord. May we desire in faith and unity to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, who transforms our lives and enables us to devote ourselves to the Word of the Lord, remembering His Work, fellowship and prayer, in order to be effective witness to our Lord Jesus.

Monday, (Jun 6) – Pray for the church cell group ministry that it will fully complement our church theme of reconnecting with God and with one another to serve God as a holistic and healthy growing church. Pray for cell group leaders that their spirits will be continuously refreshed and renewed in the Lord: they will soar on wings like eagles, run without growing weary, and walk without fainting (Isaiah 40:31). Pray for our cell members to grow in knowledge and understanding of God, as well as to have a passion and deep desire to study God’s Word in order to live a flourishing life in light of God’s self-revelation in Jesus Christ.

Tuesday, (Jun 7) – Pray for the Holy Spirit to place in our hearts one name for this year, be it for our friends, family, or co-workers to come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Pray that we, as the body of Christ, will be more intentional in sowing seed to unbelievers who have yet to hear the good news (gospel) of God’s salvation. Pray for the sick that they will experience healing and restoration from the hand of the Lord.

Wednesday, (Jun 8)Pray for the Nation: Pray for wisdom and discernment for our Prime Minister Sabri Yaakob to convene a general election (GE15) at the appropriate time in the best interests of the nation. Pray also for our Prime Minister to carefully consider all factors that would affect the rakyat before reintroducing the goods and services tax (GST), which was prematurely abolished by the Pakatan Harapan administration in 2018. Pray for improved business confidence and prudent policy decisions across the country’s business sectors to stem rising inflation and living costs. activities, and responsiveness in controlling the dengue outbreak.

Thursday, (Jun 9)TRAC: Pray for the upcoming seminar (via zoom) which will be held on June 18 on Family Ministries – Discipling the Next Generation, organized by TRAC Board of Christian Education. Pray for God’s anointing and guidance to be upon the speaker Dr. Herbert Tan and the team. Pray for a greater awareness among us of the importance of discipling the next generation, especially in light of an increasingly digitalized world while attempting to keep to the basic biblical core of discipleship. Pray that many people will join the seminar with eagerness to learn and practice. Pray that all the arrangement goes smoothly on the day.

Friday, (Jun 10) – Pray for the children as many are having school holidays this week. Pray for God’s protection to be upon them. May this be a time for the children and teachers to have sufficient rest and to prepare for a joyous return to school at the start of the next term. Pray for God’s blessings to be upon the family, that they will have a blessed time bonding with one another throughout the holidays, and that they will also experience God’s goodness together and draw closer to Him.

Saturday (Jun 11)Pray for the World: Thanks be to God that Shanghai has now eased a range of covid-19 restrictions. Pray continually for God’s healing and protection be upon the people, as well as His guidance to be upon the leaders and for the recovery of the economy. Pray for North Korea. Pray for God’s mercy that the spread of corona virus is contained. Pray that the leaders will be open to receiving aid from international groups or countries if they are in need. Pray for God’s sustaining grace, comfort and strength to be upon the remnant.

This Week’s Prayer: 28th – 29th May 2022

Heavenly Father,

help us embrace any trials that You see fit in our lives.

Lord, it is not always easy to align
our minds with the mind of Christ.

Often it is hard to see trials in a positive light,
yet Your Word tells us that life’s difficulties
sharpen our faith.

Increase our faith, O Lord.

Help us to look at difficulties with Your eyes,
and give us an eternal perspective on all the problems
we face, so that when the next trial comes,
may we respond with utter joy,
knowing that the testing of our faith produces the godly
fruit of patience and an opportunity to grow in grace,
and as a springboard to develop a deeper and more
secure relationship with You.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Prayer List: 28th – 29th May 2022

Sunday, ( May 29) – James 1: 12 says, “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial because when he had stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” Pray that God would enable us to persevere under trials. Pray that God’s grace will indeed be sufficient for each one of us as we entrust into His hands the struggles that we face in our lives. Pray that we fix our eyes upon Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith and that our faith in Jesus may not be shaken by any circumstances.

Monday, (May 30)Youth & Sunday School Ministries – Both the Youth & Sunday School Ministries have resumed in-person meetings in church. Pray that as our youths and children come back together, they may re-connect with one another well. Pray that God would once again instill the hearts of our younger generation a desire and a passion to seek after God’s heart. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance be upon our youth counselors and our Sunday School teachers as they strive to point our younger generation to Christ. Pray that God would raise up more people who would be able to journey with our youths.

Tuesday, (May 31) – Pray for the youth globally that God would give them passion and a deep-seated purpose for living regardless of their circumstances (Jer. 29:11; Rom. 8:28-29). Pray that their thoughts continue to be transformed in Christ and that they will be an example to the world in their words, lifestyles, love, faith, and purity (1 Tim. 4:12). Pray that God to provide the youth with the ability to love, respect, and honour their parents, teachers, spiritual leaders, and governmental authorities (Eph. 6:2-3).

Wednesday, (Jun 1)Pray for the Nation: Pray for an end to the current surge in hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) clusters, particularly among children aged six and under in nurseries, kindergartens, and day-care centres. Pray for all parties concerned, such as the state health agency, businesses, and child caregivers, to take extra measures by keeping the premises, floors, restrooms, and equipment used by children clean. Pray for the children who have been affected with this disease to recover quickly. Pray also for a reduction in the recent increase in the number of dengue cases through increased dengue surveillance, social and community mobilisation toward preventative activities, and responsiveness in controlling the dengue outbreak.

Thursday, (Jun 2)TRAC: Pray for the upcoming TRAC Worship Ministry Leaders’ Retreat: Renewed Through Worship that would be held on 4-6 June 2022. Pray that the Lord will renew the hearts of all those who would be attending the retreat. Pray that as worship leaders engage with one another from other TRAC Churches, they may be refreshed to lead & mentor their respective worship teams. Pray for good participation by all TRAC Churches.

Friday, (Jun 3) – Pray for Rev. Gaurri, as she has begun her three-month sabbatical. Pray that she will have a blessed Sabbath rest, the time for renewing her soul in God, the time to reconnect with God intimately. Pray that she will also have a good time with her family and friends. Pray that God’s presence, protection and guidance to be upon her and family in all she is engaged throughout the three months. Pray that the church will continue to serve God and His people in unity and obedience during the three months under the lordship of our Lord Jesus, the Good Shepherd, on whom we wholly depend.

Saturday (Jun 4)Pray for the World: Pray for God’s comfort to be upon the families who have lost their loved ones in the Texas elementary school shooting. Pray for His healing to be upon the survivors who have witnessed and suffered such a traumatic incident. Pray for God’s direction to be upon the leaders to take serious action on gun control, working with local police and authorities to ensure the safety of the people in each town. Pray that the hearts of the leaders and people turn to the LORD, that they find true security, peace and freedom in Him alone.
