Prayer List: April 4, 2021

Sunday, (Apr 4) – Today is Easter Sunday and we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Praise God that Jesus is our risen, ascended, and glorified God and Lord, who died to redeem us and rose to give us His resurrected life. Thank the Lord that even when we doubt Him and are faithless, He remains faithful to His promise that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Pray that we will not rely on senses or emotions to inform us of His love and grace but will trust His Word and the truths and promises it contains. Pray that God will strengthen our faith in Him, and send us out as messengers to proclaim Him as our Lord and our God.

Monday, (Apr 5) – Pray for all Christian families. Pray for God’s emotional, physical and spiritual protection over all family members. Pray that He will guard their minds from harmful instruction and grant them discernment to recognize His truth. Pray that the Gospel message will be the root of gratitude in the hearts of parents, leading them to thankful and grateful living, thereby setting an example to their children. Pray that family members will be grateful for one another and pray for each other continually. Pray that this attitude of gratitude for one another will bind families together, and their prayers for each other will further unify them in gratitude and love.

Tuesday, (Apr 6) – The Ministry of Health reported that the highly contagious COVID-19 variant from South Africa has been detected in Malaysia. Pray for wisdom for the health ministry to implement public health measures to prevent the incoming of new variants into the country. Pray that the rakyat will not become negligent and lackadaisical, and take it easy on following the SOPs following the decline in the number of daily COVID-19 cases. Pray for God’s protection upon learning institutions as all secondary schools were reopened on Monday, April 5, 2021.

Wednesday, (Apr 7) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that the leaders of our nation will be God fearing, and they will be good and hardworking politicians of integrity and good conscience. Pray that God will overturn corruption and money politics which overshadow elections and decisions on government regulations and policies. Pray for accountability and good governance at the highest office of government, from the Cabinet down to the civil services. Pray that MPs will be trustworthy and true to their electorates, bearing in mind that they have been elected to their positions by the people.

Thursday, (Apr 8) – Pray for the World: As the violence between protestors and the military junta in Myanmar escalates, the United Nations warned of the risk of a bloodbath because of an intensified crack-down on the anti-coup protestors. Pray that the call from nations around the world for a de-escalation of the situation and the further release of detainees will be heeded by the military regime. Pray that God will grant wisdom and success to the South-East Asian countries as they work together towards a peaceful solution in Myanmar. Pray that God will continue to protect the innocent civilians.

Friday, (Apr 9) – Pray for TRAC: Praise God that in Wesley Methodist Church Kuala Lumpur, a group of more than 10 persons were baptized during the Palm Sunday weekend following the SOPs. Pray that the children who were baptized will grow strong in the Lord, and their parents will faithfully nurture them in the ways of God as they grow. Pray that the adults who were baptized will take their faith seriously, and will grow in discipleship as they have made a lifelong commitment to follow Jesus.

Saturday, (Apr 10) – The El-Shaddai Refugee Learning Centre (ERLC) began 13 years ago with 22 students only. Today there are more than 1,000 students in main centres, and hundreds more in auxiliary centres found in various towns and cities in Malaysia. God has blessed this vital ministry to educate the refugee children in Malaysia. Recently, 8 students graduated from the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (ICGSE) with good grades. This is a watershed moment for ERLC. Pray that God will provide for all the needs of ERLC and that many students will turn to Christ. Pray also for all the teachers, volunteers and workers of the ERLC centres.
