Introduction
The presence of Jesus who is our Immanuel helps us in times of fear. He gives us the confidence that we need in times of fear.

Explanation

1. God is that place of refuge. He is that place of safety. He is that place whereby we can be protected.

2. We are able to stand strong in the midst of trouble and fear because we have a relationship with God.

3. God is in control and because He is in control, we are to be still.

Final Word
We are God’s children and as God’s children let us turn to Jesus who is our Immanuel in times of fear.

Reflection Question
1. Think and reflect about some of your fearful moment, how did you overcome those moments?
2. Do you sense God urging you to take a step of faith in some of the things that is happening in your life? Can you trust God to be with you in those challenges?

Introduction
The presence of Immanuel who is God with us brings us hope. The kind of hope that holds our life and anchors our soul when we go through crisis.

1. David’s ability to surrender, submit and wait on God to act.

2. David’s need for guidance. He desires to remain in God’s ways; God’s path and God’s truth even in the midst of crisis.

3. David’s acute awareness of his own sinfulness.

Final Word
Let us continue to cling on to the hope that God is present with us in our daily struggles.

1. What are some of your concerns and pleasures that weighs you down? Pray for God’s strength to be able to lift up your soul to God

2. Are you aware that your sins are great? Ponder and think about your sins and how God in his love and mercy has forgiven you.
