Sermon Title: The Display of God’s Mercy
Scripture Text: Jonah 3
Introduction
We may have at one point or another resisted God’s call – God who is rich in mercies gives us second chances.
Explanation
Jonah receives a second opportunity to render obedience to God.
Jonah proclaimed the message of God but it was God who worked in the hearts of the people.
The people repented and called on the name of the Lord.
God saw their repentance and relented from sending destruction.
Final Word
We experience God’s mercy when we turn towards God.
Reflection Question
1. Reflect on how God gave Jonah a second chance. Make a list of second chances you have experienced.
2. What is required for true repentance? How can we repent from our wrong doings and how can we help one another in church to repent?
