This Week’s Prayer: 2nd – 3rd July 2022

Heavenly Father,

we thank you that you show your mercy, grace and help for all people through the cross of Jesus – through His life-giving sacrifice for our forgiveness and the salvation of the entire world.

Help us to press in, persist in plea, and persevere in prayer like the Canaanite woman.

Grant unto us the kind of faith – a faith that won’t give up, firm and unwavering.

We trust in who you are, and what you are able to do, Lord Jesus. In you, all things hold together.

And God we pray, that you would be glorified in our asking and our persevering in pressing in, in intercession and petitioning that it might be said of us, “Great is your faith, be it done as you desire.”

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer List: 2nd – 3rd July 2022

Sunday, (Jul 3) – Thank you for an encouraging narrative about a Canaanite woman whose faith in Jesus has taught generations of Christians that salvation comes not from becoming a Jew, but from faith in Christ. Pray that God will teach us to pray with tenacious faith (like the Canaanite woman) that our prayers will be answered in His mercy. Pray that we will be inspired by this narrative to become more and more like Jesus, who shows compassion to people of other races, ethnic groups, and nationalities who are socially marginalised or voiceless.

Monday, (Jul 4)Pray for family. We thank God that we are a part of the large family in our Lord Jesus as a body of Christ. May God be the centre of each and every home. Pray for God’s grace and strength to be upon parents and grandparents that they will love God wholeheartedly and lead the children to walk in His ways, exercising faith in the person and work of our Lord Jesus. Pray for the youth and young adults that they will desire to have a personal relationship with Jesus and to pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. Pray that God will protect little children and elderly family members from harm.

Tuesday, (Jul 5) – Pray for our national church leaders to love one another, to work together in unity and humility, and to pray for and care for one another regardless of denominational differences. Pray for repentance and a return to the first love and to serve God with all of their hearts, souls, and minds. Pray for God to raise up Gen Z & Millennial, especially with the declining numbers of theologically trained pastors and ministers in seminaries and bible colleges.

Wednesday, (Jul 6)Pray for the Nation: Pray that God will reign over the political arena in our country and that God’s removal and installation of country leaders (Daniel: 2:21) will be fulfilled. Pray that our government maintains current subsidies in the midst of the cost of living crisis, takes corrective action to ensure food-chain supply stability, and reduces ministerial and deputy ministerial pay as living costs soar. Pray for good governance, bold leadership to combat extremism and humble leaders to step forward to serve as God’s stewards.

Thursday, (Jul 7) – Pray for the Methodist Council of Education (MCOE) and its affiliated schools, colleges and institutions. Pray for continuous God’s providence upon all the schools as they aim to provide comprehensive and holistic education founded on the Methodist Vision, Mission and Philosophy of Education and to impact lives and Nation through it. Pray that God will send more teachers who fear God and have passion in teaching and impacting lives of young people. Pray that God will provide more young people opportunities to attend these schools so that they might not only succeed academically, but also grow to love God and they will be empowered to live with wisdom and humility, justice and integrity, and courage and selflessness.

Friday, (Jul 8) – Pray for our church to press on and persevere in its mission to be a house of prayer for all nations (Isaiah 56:7c), just as the early church prayed (Acts 4:31), offering God the prayer of the church as the body of Christ for Him to accomplish what is in His heart and fulfil His will in this church. Pray for the church to be more intentional in reconnecting with God and with one another through various means, guided and led by the Holy Spirit. Continue to pray for good governance in the church and the country, for “A Renewed Church,” and for holy living so that the church will be strengthened and fortified against the evil one’s attacks.

Saturday (Jul 9)Pray for the World: Continue to pray for God’s divine intervention to put an end to the Russia-Ukraine war, because not only does it destroy the precious lives and the cities in both countries, but it also affects the supply chain globally. Pray for God’s providence to be upon nations and the leaders as some are facing financial crisis. Pray for cooperation from world leaders to bring about peace, political and social stability, and economic recovery in the world. Pray against the next Covid-19 wave outbreak.

This Week’s Prayer: 25th – 26th June 2022

Lord, make a way, but not just any way.

Make the way You have for us.

May we not end up on the paths that seem right to us.

Paths that will only lead us to death.

Make us blind to all the other ways and all the other paths, other than the one You planned for us to walk in.

Lord, draw us closer to you. We recognize Your ways are higher and Your thoughts are higher.

We earnestly seek and deeply desire Your wisdom and discernment to know, see and do. May we diligently walk in your way. Show us O Lord Your way.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer LIst: 25th – 26th June 2022

Sunday, (Jun 26) – Pray as God’s Word speaks to our hearts in John 14:1-14, meditating on the importance and unique significance of Jesus in our lives. Pray that we would come to know Jesus more personally since He is the only way to live a life of complete fulfillment. Pray that God would give us a humble spirit, relying alone on Jesus to accept the great gift of redemption and total reconciliation with God.

Monday, (Jun 27) – Praise God and thank Him for His faithfulness and goodness that have been witnessed in Klang Wesley. Pray for Rev. Gaurri and the church leaders as they gather for the mid-year Review on July 1st night and July 2nd morning. May the Holy Spirit work among them and lead them as they reflect upon our walk with the Lord over the first half of the year and further seek His direction for the second half of the year. May He guide and bestow wisdom upon the leaders as they lead the ministries that God has entrusted to Klang Wesley for His Kingdom and His glory.

Tuesday, (Jun 28) – Pray for local and worldwide churches to be humble and obedient to God’s changes of plans in different seasons of their life, so that they might see the beauty of His changing work in His churches. Pray that the church would excel in everything; in faith, in knowledge, in all seriousness, the love of one another – but also in sharing their riches and resources with the needy and destitute, as in the Macedonian churches. Pray for the churches to re-establish the practice of not failing to gather together in His church, but of encouraging one another to study God’s Word and endeavor to grow in grace as a body of Christ.

Wednesday, (Jun 29)Pray for the Nation: Pray that the rakyat will remain vigilant in adhering to the SOPs and that senior citizens and those with chronic diseases will receive the second booster dose in light of Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin’s recent statement about the possibility of a new covid-19 wave based on the virus epidemiology development in other countries. Continue to pray that when more corruption cases emerge, they will not only be investigated quickly so that justice, truth, and righteousness are served, but that the current level of corruption does not become a pandemic. Pray for our judiciary system to uphold the judicial motto “Berkhidmat untuk Keadilan” and the supremacy of the Federal Constitution as well as to deliver justice without fear or favor.

Thursday, (Jun 30)TRAC: Pray for the pastors and churches, as we continue to serve God in the new normal with the shift from the pandemic to the endemic stage. Pray for unity and harmony among the pastors, the church leaders, and the congregations that we would be single-minded with the same love in our Lord Jesus for the gospel. Pray for God’s protection to be upon pastors physically and spiritually. Pray that the work of the Holy Spirit be upon the churches and we will be sensitive to the leading that we will grow spiritually and continue to witness to our Lord Jesus through various means in this lost world.

Friday, (Jul 1)Pray for Asia. Asian countries are facing supply chain disruptions in imports of grain, fuel, cooking oil, fertilizers, and industrial metals, triggered by the current Ukraine-Russia war, which has caused prices to soar. Pray for God’s wisdom to be upon the leaders as they face increased risks of political, economic and social instability. Pray for the Prince of Peace to reign over the nations and uphold the peace. Pray for the spiritual breakthrough throughout the nations that God will open their eyes, ears and hearts of leaders and people that they will seek salvation and peace in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Saturday (Jul 2)Pray for the World: Pray for Afghanistan, whose eastern regions were hit by the earthquake last week. Pray that God will comfort and shield those people who mourn over the loss of their loved ones, homes and livelihoods. Pray for God’s mercy and intervention that there will be no more shaking or heavy rain, so that the roads leading to the affected areas will be clear. Pray for effective communication among the country’s leaders, other nations and international aid organizations, and that the essential needs such as medical care, shelter, food, water and clothes are supplied to the people in the affected areas.
