Heavenly Father,
open our heart toward others and toward you.
Break down and melt within us the resistance that we erect against others.
Make us to be of one heart and one mind with others in the body, generous in giving, glad to participate in anything that advances this marvelous work going on in the midst of a world which is rapidly drifting into darkness and emptiness and coldness.
Thank you, Lord, for the warmth of your Spirit, and for your power and your grace among your people.

Sunday, (Jul 31) – Reflecting on Acts 2:42-47, pray the Lord will grant us a constant hunger for His Word so that our lives may be conformed to His teaching. Pray that God will give us a sincere love for one another that we may seek opportunities to befriend and serve one another. Pray that God will give us a passion for unity that we may put aside our differences and eat together at a common table. Pray that God will give us a prayer lifestyle so that prayer is always on our hearts and minds, directing everything we do and say.
Monday, (Aug 1) – Pray for Rev Gaurri, as August is the last month of her 3-month Sabbatical. Pray for God’s protection upon her and family. Pray that Rev Gaurri will receive true rest that only comes from abiding in our Lord Jesus and closer relationship with Him. Pray for God’s grace and mercy to be richly upon her that He will renew her strength and passion with joy. Pray that God will reveal great plans for her and grant her assurances with His providence, as she continues to serve Him and seek for the advancement of His kingdom through Klang Wesley and in the community.
Tuesday, (Aug 2) – Pray that young, enthusiastic leaders who are filled with vision and dreams to emerge and move this nation toward peace, righteousness, fairness, and justice. Pray that they will be protected from the evil ones’ temptations, lusts, and deceptions, so that they will not be stymied in their pursuit of true love and relationships. Pray as the youth reflect on Job’s life, they would find hope amid their pains and troubles and rely on God as their fortress and refuge.
Wednesday, (Aug 3) – Pray for the Nation: Teach us how to pray for our beloved country, and fill us with Your heavenly throne’s love, forgiveness, compassion, mercy, and grace. Pray for our Prime Minister to be faithful and responsible in his role of providing godly and sound advice to our Agong, and to be wise and prudent in his leadership over the nation. Pray for our cabinet ministers to have great wisdom and ability to move in unison toward growth and expansion in all industries, with concrete plans and appropriate resources to drive the nation toward recovery.
Thursday, (Aug 4) – TRAC: Pray for the session, “Conversations & Best Practice Sharing On: How To Work Together Better In A Methodist Church” held on August 6, organized by TRAC Board of Christian Education. Pray for the panelists, Rev Ashok Amarasingham and Rev Ronald Yap, Moderator Mr.William Lim and the facilitating team. Pray that the Holy Spirit will lead the entire time of the conversations, questions and sharing, that it will be the time of blessing and encouraging among all who attend, as well as to promote a synergistic and edifying church community
Friday, (Aug 5) – Pray for God’s protection and peace as we remain vigilant against infectious diseases in light of the recent influenza outbreak and the ongoing high case rates of covid 19. Pray that with His mercy, God will keep the virus from continuing to spread. Pray for God’s protection on people of all ages, especially young children, students, elderly people, pregnant women, and people with chronic illness. Pray for those who are sick or quarantining. Pray that God will take away the fear, anxiety and feelings of isolation from them, and His healing and care to be upon them. Pray also against the further spread of monkeypox in the world
Saturday (Aug 6) – Pray for the World: Pray for Laos. Praise God for His works in the nation’s growth as well as the opportunities for the gospel to be shared in the past decades. Pray that His Spirit continues to work in and through the country, strengthening the churches, believers and missionaries, so that they can stand firm even against the persecution and pressure, and continue to grow. Pray for God’s protection upon them from detention, surveillance and restriction, and for His provisions physically and spiritually. Pray for pastors and leaders to have perseverance in building disciples for His Kingdom, and for more opportunities for the gospel to the unreached people groups. Pray also for God’s wisdom and guidance to be upon the country leaders, as the country’s year-on-year inflation has risen with surging prices of energy and consumer goods.

O God,
you desire truth in the inmost heart, Forgive us, our sins against the truth – the untruth within us, the half-lies, the evasions, the exaggerations, the lying silences, the self-deceits, the masks we wear before the world.
Let us stand naked before you, and see ourselves as we really are.
Then, grant us the truth in the inward parts and keep us in truth always.

Sunday, (Jul 24) – Pray against the peril of familiarity with Scripture that has prevented us from seeing the amazing truth hidden beneath God’s word. Pray that we would follow Jesus unreservedly since He is the truth of God’s Word and the only truth, being divinity itself and clothed in absolute and righteous authority. Pray that as Jesus shines his light into our lives, the truth will convince our hearts and that we will see the urgency to walk intimately with Christ to be transformed into His image.
Monday, (Jul 25) – Pray for the Cell Group Ministry – Pray that the Spirit of God is at work in each group to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus, bearing the fruit of the Spirit. Pray that God will empower the leaders with encouragement and wisdom. Pray for unity and a spirit of forgiveness and humility in a group, with the same mindset as our Lord Jesus. Pray for God’s grace that each group will become a safe place where members encourage each other, learn from and admonish one another in love and care. Pray that more people will join a group, and cell groups will be mobilized to reach out to the community by God’s grace.
Tuesday, (Jul 26) – Pray for God’s healing encounters for people who are suffering from long covid symptoms, terminal illness, and mental illness. Pray for the provision and guidance of the Holy Spirit’s power and strength in facing their sufferings and grace in restoring them fully. Pray for God’s mercy and grace for divine opportunities and encounters for friendship, acts of love and care, and opportunities to share God’s love with people who do not yet know Christ.
Wednesday, (Jul 27) – Pray for the Nation: Pray for unity among the opposition parties and the incumbent government in developing a realistic and efficient mechanism for subsidy policies to halt rising inflation and alleviate the rakyat’s burden of the rising cost of essential goods. Pray for a swift resolution to the temporary freeze on all Indonesian workers entering Malaysia, so that the affected industries that are facing foreign workers shortages are not further delayed. Pray for wisdom and urgency in preparing for the nation’s social security and welfare in revitalizing an aging nation.
Thursday, (Jul 28) – TRAC: Pray for the seminar “When Life (and God) don’t make sense” (the book called JOB) held at Trinity Methodist Church PJ from July 29 to July 31. Pray for God’s anointing and wisdom to be upon Bishop Dr. Gordon Wong, who will share pastoral reflections in response to 7 questions that have been raised from a reading of the book called Job. May God illuminates the hearts of those who attend the seminar for the insights of the Almighty, All-knowing, Sovereign God and encounter His presence. Pray that all the preparation and arrangement go smoothly before and on the days of the seminar.
Friday, (Jul 29) – Pray for the missionaries all over the world. Pray that God will watch over each person and family, and cover them with a hedge of protection, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Pray that God’s tangible presence and His peace enable them to stay united with Him always. Pray that God also brings His people to walk alongside them so they will not feel isolated. Pray against any discouragement or doubt, and God’s assurance, encouragement, and providence are with them, enabling them to continue to seek Him for the tasks He has given them. Pray that God will open doors for their work, and He will provide all their needs with His grace, strength, clear direction, and wisdom.
Saturday (Jul 30) – Pray for the World: Pray for our troubled world, which is continually in a state of pain and suffering due to natural calamities (from bush fires and plagues to disastrous floods and mudslides) that God’s kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Pray for people who are vulnerable to coronavirus pandemic across the world, as well as for medical aid that may be more difficult to access. Pray for comfort and hope for all nations experiencing conflict and political instability.
