This Week’s Prayer: 30th April – 1st May 2022

Heavenly Father,
thank You that we have peace with God
by grace through faith in Christ’s finished work
and thank You that in Him
we have the peace of God
to guard our hearts and minds
in the midst of a perverse
and crooked generation.

Thank You that we have Your peace
reigning in our hearts
and we pray that we may be faithful
witnesses to the truth
of the glorious gospel of Christ –
knowing that the Christian life
is not easy but joy comes in the morning,
in Jesus name we pray,

AMEN

Prayer List: 30th April – 1st May 2022

Sunday, ( May 1) – Pray for a deepening work of the Holy Spirit in each of our lives. Pray that deep down in our hearts we will truly believe in the power of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Pray that each one of us will learn to live in the new identity that comes to us through all that Jesus has done and suffered for us. Pray that we will lean on Jesus whose love is great and rich in mercy and through whom we are made alive. Pray that God will indeed draw us closer to Himself.

Monday, (May 2)In-House Church Camp – We praise and thank God that we are able to have with us Pr. Dr. Philip Lyn to be our speaker. Pray for the Lord’s anointing to be upon him even right now as he prepares to come to Klang. Pray for journey mercies for Pr. Philip and his wife, Nancy as they travel to Klang. Pray for all the preparations that need to be done for this camp and most importantly pray that God will prepare the hearts of all who would be coming. Pray for ears and hearts to be opened to what God will speak to us through the camp.

Tuesday, (May 3) – Pray for wisdom to be prepared for new post-pandemic challenges and be vigilant in protecting ourselves as well as the community as our nation enters into the endemic phase. Pray for regular congregants to return to physical in-person services in order to reconnect with God and with one another. Pray for God’s mercy and strength for those suffering from long Covid symptoms as well as terminal illness so that God can fully restore them.

Wednesday, (May 4)Pray for the Nation: Pray against any forms of unfounded and scurrilous attacks on our country’s judiciary system and protect the integrity of the judiciary or judges following our Chief Justice’s censure criticism of high-profiles cases that had “gone overboard.” Pray our National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) and minister in charge of the agency are willing to devote time and resources to better understanding and mitigating the hazards of climate change, and so reducing floods. Pray for law-abiding citizens to remain vigilant and take discretionary steps to safeguard the community from the covid19 virus, after MOH’s announcement of additional relaxations as the country enters the endemic phase.

Thursday, (May 5)The Methodist Church – Rev. Liew Kek Ming has been elected Acting Bishop of the Chinese Annual Conference. Pray for God’s leading; guidance and anointing to be upon him as he steps up to be the Acting Conference Bishop of the CAC. Pray that God will surround him with people who would encourage and spur him on in his work as the Conference Bishop. Remember his family in prayer as they adapt to the sudden change of roles and responsibilities. Pray for the leadership of the Chinese Annual Conference to be blessed as they serve God in their various capacities.

Friday, (May 6) – Pray for God’s protection as many people may have been traveling during this week in conjunction with national holidays. Pray for a peaceful and blessed time spent with family, friends and neighbours, and that we can share the love and grace that we have received from our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that God would stir compassion in our hearts for those who are having difficulty celebrating the holidays. As the covid-19 SOP relaxations is implemented on May 1, pray for God’s continued wisdom to be upon each individual as we may go out or gather more often.

Saturday (May 7)Pray for the World: Pray for India, which is experiencing heatwave that is making millions of people unbearable and jeopardising the harvest of crops like wheat. Pray for God’s protection upon the people, particularly the poor and vulnerable. Pray for God’s mercy to bring rain and a cool breeze to comfort the people. Pray for God’s wisdom be upon the authorities to assist and provide resources to cool down, as well as to monitor sites such as hospitals, factories, landfills and other areas to prevent fires from breaking out.

This Week’s Prayer – 23rd – 24th April 2022

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that we are saved
by grace through faith
in Christ’s finished work on Calvary – but
Lord we want to be Your disciple
and to take up our own cross daily
and follow You in humble obedience.

We pray that we may willingly submit
to Your will in every area of our life
and to share in Christ’s sufferings,
so that we may be continuously transformed
by His death into the likeness of Christ,
to Your praise and glory.

This we pray in Jesus name,
AMEN

Prayer List: 23rd – 24th April 2022

Sunday, (Apr 24) – Pray for God’s sufficient grace to be with us as we seek to be Jesus’ disciples. Pray that we may not be hindered by our circumstances in desiring to be Jesus’ disciples. Pray that each one of us will learn to carry our crosses and follow the path that Jesus has set before us.

Monday, (Apr 25)The Methodist Church – Pray for God’s peace and comfort to be upon the Chinese Annual Conference as they grieve and mourn the passing of their beloved Conference Bishop, Bishop Dr. Wong Tik Wah. Pray for God’s comfort to also be upon the family members as they grapple with the sudden loss of their loved one. Pray for God’s guidance to be upon Bishop Dr. T. Jeyakumar as he leads and guides the CAC in all that needs to be done with regard to the sudden demise of Bishop Dr. Wong. Pray that the conference will remain united and that God would truly raise another person to be the Conference Bishop.

Tuesday, (Apr 26) – Pray that God’s Holy Word be purely preached and taught among us at all times, and that we will gladly hear and by His Command, and that we will always value the forgiveness of sins and eternal life that Christ has bestowed upon us. Pray that we will be obedient in availing ourselves and allow God to prepare us through His ministry to use the gifts He has given each of us in service to Him and others, so that His body may be built up.

Wednesday, (Apr 27)Pray for the Nation: Pray against any impunity that would allow the corrupt to go free. Pray against any evil schemes designed to abuse or delay proceedings, and any forms of manipulation over court judgments in the ongoing long abuses and mismanagement cases. Continue to pray for the removal of corruption from the nation’s criminal justice system’s key primary components of police, corrections (prisons and rehabilitation), immigration detention centres (the deaths of fleeing Rohingya detainees), and the judiciary systems.

Thursday, (Apr 28)Methodist Prayer Convention – Commit to the Lord all the preparations that are being done for this Convention. Pray that God will move the hearts of the people in our churches to participate in this convention. Pray for the Lord’s anointing and sufficient grace to be upon the speakers that as they speak forth Your Word, it will indeed bear fruit in the hearts of all who will be participating. Pray that through this convention our lives may be renewed through prayer.

Friday, (Apr 29) – Pray for the Rohingya detainees who escaped from a temporary immigration detention centre in Sungai Bakap last Wednesday, that they will be found and returned to the centre safely. Pray for God’s guidance to be upon the police and agencies for the search, as well as for peace to be upon the residents of the area. Pray for God’s wisdom to be upon the authorities to work with non-governmental organisations to ensure the refugee’s safety, human rights and integrity, as well as support, particularly for the children to help them prepare for the future.

Saturday (Apr 30)Pray for the World: Pray for the peace, love and unity across religions and ethnic groups in the world, especially as several religions observe a holy week or month during this month. Pray for Afghanistan as they grieve over the recent bombings in two cities. Pray for God’s comfort to be upon people who have suddenly lost their loved ones. Pray for God’s healing to be upon those who are wounded as well as many citizens who are under fear. Pray for God’s divine intervention in areas where people are being persecuted for their beliefs and identities.
