Prayer List: 23rd – 24th April 2022

Sunday, (Apr 24) – Pray for God’s sufficient grace to be with us as we seek to be Jesus’ disciples. Pray that we may not be hindered by our circumstances in desiring to be Jesus’ disciples. Pray that each one of us will learn to carry our crosses and follow the path that Jesus has set before us.

Monday, (Apr 25)The Methodist Church – Pray for God’s peace and comfort to be upon the Chinese Annual Conference as they grieve and mourn the passing of their beloved Conference Bishop, Bishop Dr. Wong Tik Wah. Pray for God’s comfort to also be upon the family members as they grapple with the sudden loss of their loved one. Pray for God’s guidance to be upon Bishop Dr. T. Jeyakumar as he leads and guides the CAC in all that needs to be done with regard to the sudden demise of Bishop Dr. Wong. Pray that the conference will remain united and that God would truly raise another person to be the Conference Bishop.

Tuesday, (Apr 26) – Pray that God’s Holy Word be purely preached and taught among us at all times, and that we will gladly hear and by His Command, and that we will always value the forgiveness of sins and eternal life that Christ has bestowed upon us. Pray that we will be obedient in availing ourselves and allow God to prepare us through His ministry to use the gifts He has given each of us in service to Him and others, so that His body may be built up.

Wednesday, (Apr 27)Pray for the Nation: Pray against any impunity that would allow the corrupt to go free. Pray against any evil schemes designed to abuse or delay proceedings, and any forms of manipulation over court judgments in the ongoing long abuses and mismanagement cases. Continue to pray for the removal of corruption from the nation’s criminal justice system’s key primary components of police, corrections (prisons and rehabilitation), immigration detention centres (the deaths of fleeing Rohingya detainees), and the judiciary systems.

Thursday, (Apr 28)Methodist Prayer Convention – Commit to the Lord all the preparations that are being done for this Convention. Pray that God will move the hearts of the people in our churches to participate in this convention. Pray for the Lord’s anointing and sufficient grace to be upon the speakers that as they speak forth Your Word, it will indeed bear fruit in the hearts of all who will be participating. Pray that through this convention our lives may be renewed through prayer.

Friday, (Apr 29) – Pray for the Rohingya detainees who escaped from a temporary immigration detention centre in Sungai Bakap last Wednesday, that they will be found and returned to the centre safely. Pray for God’s guidance to be upon the police and agencies for the search, as well as for peace to be upon the residents of the area. Pray for God’s wisdom to be upon the authorities to work with non-governmental organisations to ensure the refugee’s safety, human rights and integrity, as well as support, particularly for the children to help them prepare for the future.

Saturday (Apr 30)Pray for the World: Pray for the peace, love and unity across religions and ethnic groups in the world, especially as several religions observe a holy week or month during this month. Pray for Afghanistan as they grieve over the recent bombings in two cities. Pray for God’s comfort to be upon people who have suddenly lost their loved ones. Pray for God’s healing to be upon those who are wounded as well as many citizens who are under fear. Pray for God’s divine intervention in areas where people are being persecuted for their beliefs and identities.
