Prayer List: 13th – 14th Aug 2022

Sunday, (Aug 14) – Thank you, Lord, for giving us life and for our parents. Pray that we will honor You in all of our relationships with parents, family, and friends and that our lives will be honored to You. Pray that the Lord would guard us against any form of idolatry and keep our hearts and thoughts focused on Jesus, the Author, and Finisher of our faith. Pray that the Lord would use us in these dark and terrible times when the world appears to be spinning out of control and that we will never forget the Lord’s faithfulness in keeping His promises to a thousand generations. sisters, especially from the younger generation, will join with their God-given gifts to lead the ministry.

Monday, (Aug 15) – Thanks and Praise be to God that more people are returning to church weekend worship services, which are also followed by the fellowship with refreshments on Sundays. As we gather together before Him as His people in one Spirit, may God continue to instill in our hearts the privilege and joy to worship Him together, only one true God and wise God, who alone deserves all our praises. Pray for the peace of God to be among us so that we can concentrate on giving Him our complete adoration and thanksgiving despite the ongoing covid cases and life struggles. Pray that church will continue to be a welcoming community to new comers, a caring and encouraging to those unable to attend the services and that we together belong to Christ.

Tuesday, (Aug 16) – Pray against the evil powers that have resulted in a high suicide rate among the youth, weakening their will to live. Pray for God’s light to shine on them and implant godly values in their hearts and minds. Pray that our current education system would be efficient and in hindsight plan to train youths holistically so that they will be well equipped in terms of skills and character when they begin their careers life. Pray that parents and educators develop specific measures to assist reduce truancy, which causes societal problems.

Wednesday, (Aug 17)Pray for the Nation: Continue to pray for wisdom for our government in better managing economic issues that affect rakyat livelihoods, and to psychologically prepare them for more difficult times ahead due to worsening US-China relations and a period of prolonged high inflation amidst disruptions in supply chains on foods and raw materials caused by the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. Pray that our government would implement practical ways to assist in the reduction of many rakyats’ financial burdens that exceed their ability to repay. Pray for visionary and zealous leaders who are filled with vision and dreams would come forth and drive this nation in the pursuit of peace, righteousness, impartiality, and justice.

Thursday, (Aug 18)TRAC: Pray for Rev Dr. T. Jeyakumar (Bishop of the Methodist Church in Malaysia), Rev. Joshua Khong (TRAC Bishop), and all the pastors under TRAC, as they take care of their congregations during this endemic as well as to prepare towards District Conferences in October and 47th session TRAC in November. Pray that God will protect them and their family from the devil’s schemes both physically and spiritually. As they minister to various groups of people daily, pray that God will grant them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that they may know Him better, and that He will also empower them with His wisdom and Word.

Friday, (Aug 19) – The NECF Malaysia 40 Days Fast & Prayer continues from Aug.7 till Sep.15. The theme this year is “A Heart To Know God.” May we come before God in reverence and humility, not just as a matter of routine or religious duty but with a sincere desire to know Him personally and corporately in knowledge by reading His Word and in our encounter with Him through prayers and our daily life, just like apostle Paul describes knowing our Lord Jesus Christ as a surpassing worth compared with anything else that can be obtained in the world. May we return to intimacy with God and a lifestyle surrendered to Him.

Saturday (Aug 20)Pray for the World: Pray against any further escalation of the possibility of US-China miscalculations over tensions in the Taiwan Strait, which Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has warned that a storm is brewing as US-China relations deteriorate, with intractable issues, deep suspicions, and limited engagement. Pray for central banks worldwide to implement strong policies and measures to combat the rapid inflation that is affecting a wide range of products and services, as well as the dramatic drop-in economic activity. Pray for the threat of starvation, which today affects 45 million people in 43 countries throughout the world, according to World Vision, and ambitions of eradicating hunger by 2030 are significantly stalled owing to the continuous war conflict, COVID-19, and climate change.
