Prayer List: 18 – 19 December 2021

Sunday, (Dec 19) – Praise God for His gift of love that is shown to us perfectly in Christ, our Lord. Pray that in this final week of Advent, the Lord will help us to reflect on the magnitude of love that was made manifest in Jesus. For all of us who are brothers and sisters in the faith, pray that God will help us to love one another in perfect harmony. Pray that the Lord will help us see every person the same way that He sees them, and to help us love them the way He loves them, even when they don’t love us back. Pray that we will learn to think less about ourselves, to set aside our own wants and needs, trusting that He is in control of them all – and then He will fill up that empty space with His love.

Monday, (Dec 20)Pray for the Nation: Pray for wisdom and insight for the government as tough measures are necessary to prevent a new wave of COVID-19 infections due to the Omicron variant. The government has allowed small, private Christmas and New Year’s Eve gatherings where attendees have taken a COVID-19 test and the result is negative, and there is no overcrowding. The SOPs will be tightened and the roll-out of the 3rd vaccine booster dose will be speeded up. Pray that the public will cooperate with the authorities and exercise wisdom and self-control to abide by all the regulations, especially during social gatherings. Pray that churches will be able to have in-person services during this Christmas season.

Tuesday, (Dec 21) – As we live in a “Martha” world of many distractions and never-ending demands, pray that God will help us cultivate a “Mary” heart in a “Martha” world. Pray that He will give us undivided hearts that we may live in awe of His name and choose to spend time in His Word that will help put our lives into proper perspective, so that we will deepen our communion with Him resulting in quieter, more gentle and kinder hearts. Pray that we will always choose the better part and sit at Jesus’ feet day by day so that our spirits may be refreshed and our souls revived, and we may be used by Him as a vessel for His praise and glory.

Wednesday, (Dec 22) – We praise and thank the Lord for His grace throughout the recently concluded Virtual Kids Holiday Camp. Pray that our children have indeed learned the importance of prayer and that they will not neglect their prayer time. Pray that each child will look to God as their heavenly Father who knows them each by name. Pray that our children will indeed experience the deep love of God so that no matter what they face in their lives, they will not be shaken. May the deep love of God, our Father, embrace each child and lead them onto the right path.

Thursday, (Dec 23) – The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on the mental health of students in schools and higher education institutions. The students are at risk of depression as they have had to manage the uncertainty of the opening and closing of schools and educational institutions, on top of juggling their studies. Pray for close cooperation between parents, teachers, and mental health professionals, as this is crucial for timely intervention. Pray that parents will be more involved in their children’s lives and give them the space to pour out their hearts, and that parents will patiently listen to their children. Pray that students will avoid posting too much about their emotional state on social media and instead discuss such issues with their families.

Friday, (Dec 24)Pray for TRAC: Pray for all the respective preparations of TRAC Churches for Christmas. Pray for churches to be blessed and ministered to through Bishop Joshua Khong’s sermon. Pray for people to be renewed and strengthened as they prepare to enter into the new year. Pray that TRAC churches will learn to entrust themselves to God in the midst of the current uncertainty we are facing. Most importantly, pray that our churches will not forget the Christ-given commission, which is to make disciples of all nations.

Saturday, (Dec 25)Pray for the World: The Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus continues to spread rapidly all over the world. Pray for divine wisdom for the Coronavirus experts around the world to be able to quickly determine Omicron’s infectiousness and severity and its global impact. Pray for wisdom for the governments of the world to take effective action to stem the spread of Omicron in their nations. As the world celebrates Christmas, pray that the hope, peace, joy, and love of Christ will permeate the hearts of people all over the world, and this will eclipse the fears, frustrations, and anxieties of the pandemic. Pray that many will hear the message of Christmas and turn from despair and hopelessness to find hope, peace, joy, and love in Christ.
