Prayer List: 23 – 24 October, 2021

Sunday, (Oct 24) – Seek God’s forgiveness that we are concerned mostly about ourselves and our families when He is concerned about the Church and His Kingdom family. Pray that the exalted Christ will give us a vision of His majesty, glory, strength and power. Pray that we will trust and worship Him as the One who rose again from the dead and is the living One who is alive forevermore and who has conquered death and hell. Pray that we will prepare for Jesus’ immanent return in power and glory by making Him to be the first and last in every area of our lives, as we wait in glorious anticipation of His second coming.

Monday, (Oct 25)Missions Month: Pray for Dr Peace Indrani and Sister Elina Choo, our missionaries. Pray for Dr Peace of Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF), who has returned to Malaysia, for God’s wisdom and guidance as she mentors, equips, and encourages the junior field missionaries in OMF. Pray also for Elina, who works full-time with Operation Mobilization (OM) in Malaysia, that the Lord will lead and guide her as she works in the Malaysian OM office. Pray for the Lord’s blessings as well as excellent physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Tuesday, (Oct 26)Pray for the Nation: The Parliamentary sitting began yesterday (October 25, 2021) until December 16, 2021, and the nation’s Budget 2022 will be tabled on October 29, 2021. Pray for wisdom for the Finance Minister as he puts together an economic recovery plan given the government’s weakened financial position. Pray that the Lord will deliver the nation from an economic crisis and from inflationary effects on essential goods. Pray that Budget 2022 will especially consider the needs of the B40 group in the nation. Pray also for the new government administration to be committed to uprightness, competency, effectiveness and integrity.

Wednesday, (Oct 27) – COVID-19 hospital admissions in the Klang Valley and Sarawak increased over the past week, and children in the zero to 11 age group were the second highest group in terms of COVID-19 cases. Pray for wisdom for the Ministry of Health as it ramps up surveillance on the situation. Pray that the public will also do their part, and respect all SOPs, especially when travelling interstate to their home towns. Pray also for wisdom for the health authorities as to when and how to vaccinate the children below 12 years. Pray for kindergartens and child-care centres that are reopening, that the operators and teachers will ensure that the little children will follow strictly to all SOPs.

Thursday, (Oct 28) – The Leaders’ Planning Sessions for Klang Wesley will be held tomorrow and Saturday (October 29 & 30, 2021). As the LCEC members and Cell Leaders meet to plan for the year ahead, pray that they will be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s promptings. Pray for a spirit of unity and love to prevail. Pray that our church leaders will want God’s will above everything else. Pray that the Lord will grant them wisdom and guide their discussions and thoughts, and keep their hearts tuned to His heart. Pray that the planning sessions will be interactive and productive and that all that is planned for the year ahead will be in accordance with God’s sovereign will for the church.

Friday, (Oct 29)Pray for TRAC: Pray for Bishop Joshua Khong (TRAC Bishop) and Mr Yap Koon Roy (Conference Secretary). Both are in their first year of holding these important positions in TRAC. The 46th Session TRAC is less than one month away, and will be held online on 20th November 2021. Pray that they will lean upon God’s strength always. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance upon them. Pray that they will diligently serve God and the people. Pray for God’s protection upon their respective families.

Saturday, (Oct 30)Pray for the World: Indigenous peoples all over the world are often marginalised and face discrimination in their countries’ legal systems, leaving them even more vulnerable to violence and abuse. Pray for the Orang Asli & Orang Asal in Malaysia, the Aborigines in Australia, the Red Indians in the USA, and the indigenous people in Brazil and other nations of the world. Pray that God will raise up human rights organisations to fight for the rights of these indigenous peoples, and help protect their rights to their land, culture and resources.
