Prayer List: : 25th – 26th Dec 2021

Sunday, (Dec 26) – Thank God that because we are in Christ, we have become a loved, chosen and holy people. Praise Him for sending Jesus to be the ultimate example of how we are to be clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, and most of all, to let love be the guiding principle in the way we live. Pray that we will continue to grow in spiritual maturity and grow to be people who are peace-filled, Word-shaped and always thankful. Pray that the Holy Spirit will change our hearts to honour Christ in all we do, so that in our lives individually and together as His people, the world will see that Christ is over everything we do.

Monday, (Dec 27) – Pray for the Community Services Committee of Klang Wesley headed by Mr. Johnny Lim. Pray for the Lord’s leading in the efforts of reaching out to those who are affected badly by the flood through aids. Pray for the Lord to provide sufficient resources so that we may help the community to re-build their lives. Pray that in the midst of this intense hopelessness, we may point people to the hope that comes through our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that we as the church will be the hands and feet that reaches out to those in need.

Tuesday, (Dec 28) – Pray for the COVID-19 situation in the nation given the holiday season and people are travelling freely, and businesses and hotels are reopened. The Omicron variant which is already in the country spreads at a rate that has not been seen with any previous variant. Pray that the public will not dismiss it as mild and underestimate this variant at our peril as the sheer number of cases can overwhelm our health system again. Pray that people will not let their guard down but continue to vigilantly follow all SOPs in addition to getting fully vaccinated. Pray also that safety measures will be put in place at relief centres where flood victims are being sheltered so as to prevent water borne diseases that may spread as well as COVID-19 cases.

Wednesday, (Dec 29)Pray for the Nation: “The Prime Minister has admitted that the response to the floods in Selangor could have been better” (The STAR, 22 December, 2021). Pray for wisdom for the government as the Prime Minister has vowed to do more following the lack of crisis coordination. Pray for the cleansing of the spiritual atmosphere behind every evil political scheme and selfish ambition, that they may be exposed and purged from our nation. Pray that God will establish a government administration characterised by wisdom and fruitfulness, and led by competency, compassion, effectiveness and integrity. Pray that the Prime Minister’s “Keluarga Malaysia” call will go beyond being merely a nice sounding slogan, but will be effective in healing the racial rift in our nation. Pray that the top priority of the government will always be the welfare of the rakyat, especially the needs of the underprivileged.

Thursday, (Dec 30)Pray for TRAC: Pray for all TRAC Churches who would be having their respective Watchnight Services tomorrow, 31 December 2021. Pray that churches will take time to pause and reflect on the presence of God throughout the year 2021. Pray that although it was a difficult year, we will learn to give thanks to God for all that He has given us. Pray for all TRAC Churches to be able to live out Paul’s exhortation in 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 which is to rejoice always, pray continually and to give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Friday, (Dec 31) – As we enter 2022 tomorrow, give thanks to God for all that He has allowed into our lives in 2021, the good along with the hard things, which have reminded us how much we need Him every single day. Pray that His Spirit will lead us each step of the new year – to guide our decisions and turn our hearts to deeply desire God above all else, above every dream and desire He has put within our hearts. Pray that He will always be honoured in our lives, and that others will be drawn to Him through our lives.

Saturday, (Jan 1)Pray for the World: Pray for a year of new beginnings for the world in 2022. Pray that people all over the world will have fresh encounters with God and fully experience His love and power and find hope and new life in Him after a difficult year of living under the shadow of the coronavirus. Pray that God’s people will not yield to apathy and complacency, but will step out of their comfort zones with hearts of love and compassion that spots timely opportunities to come alongside to help, comfort and pray for those who are lost and despairing. Pray also for new strength and grace from God to the persecuted Church, and for His protection and peace upon them.
