Prayer List: July 25-31, 2021

Sunday, (July 25) – Praise God for His Word that teaches us how to live as Christians in this fallen world. Pray for forgiveness for the times when we have not walked in humility, gentleness and with patience; when we have allowed pride and self-righteousness to have dominion over us and have walked haughtily with hearts blind to arrogance. Pray for forgiveness for the times we have exhibited harsh attitudes and rudeness. Pray that we will partner with the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts to be humble and gentle. Pray that the Lord will teach us to bear with one another in love. Pray that He will give us the grace and strength to eagerly seek to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace without compromising the truth in His Word.

Monday, (July 26) – Pray that Wesley Klang will be a church that would seek to honour God. Pray that the church will understand her call to be salt and light to the nation. Pray that we as a church will live our lives worthy of the calling we have received. Pray that we will draw closer to God each day by spending quality time with the Lord. Pray that we will not rush through our time with God, but that we will take time to linger in the presence of God. Pray also that we will learn to carry each other burdens during this difficult time.

Tuesday, (July 27) – Pray for God’s protection and intervention as the daily COVID-19 cases seem to escalate daily, with the highest numbers coming from the Klang Valley. Pray for God’s healing upon those who have contracted the virus, that many will be able to fully recover. Pray for resilience and physical, mental and emotional strength for the medical frontliners as many are reaching breaking point because many hospitals, especially those in the Klang Valley, are hitting full capacity. Pray that the vaccination programme will continue to be speeded up. Pray also that the people who have been fully vaccinated will continue to comply with the SOPs and not behave as though the pandemic is over.

Wednesday, (July 28)Pray for the Nation: Pray for the Parliament sitting that was reconvened on July 26, 2021. Pray that the MPs will not put their political ambitions above the welfare of the nation, but will focus on the issue at hand: to present a national recovery plan to lawmakers and to amend necessary laws to conduct hybrid Parliament meetings. Pray that the National Emergency Order will not be extended beyond August 1, 2021 so that rightful, accountable and effective governance can be restored. Pray that our MPs will be people of integrity and accountability, be trustworthy and true to their electorates.

Thursday, (July 29)Pray for the World: Many nations are experiencing spikes in daily COVID-19 cases. Pray for God’s mercy to stop the pandemic from worsening regionally and globally especially from the Delta and Lambda variants. Pray for the respective governments to act quickly, responsibly and competently. Pray against premature triumphalism and complacency towards these new Covid variants, especially in the UK and US. Pray also for the Olympic Games that began on July 23, 2021 in Japan, for the safety of the athletes and the various contingents.

Friday, (July 30)Pray for TRAC: Pray for the leadership team of each of our TRAC Churches. Pray for a sense of unity among them as they lead their respective churches together with their pastors. Pray for oneness of heart and mind as they strive to share the love of Christ to the people around them during this difficult time. Pray for attentive ears as they listen to God’s direction and pray for courageous hearts to walk in the paths that He has shown them. Most importantly, pray for the love of Christ to rule in their hearts and minds.

Saturday, (July 31) – Pray for the migrant workers and daily wage earners who have lost their jobs that they will be able to receive food aid and other essential items from NGOs and other organizations that are distributing such items to the poor and needy. Pray that God will sustain them over this period of the pandemic, and that they will be able to find jobs when the situation improves.
