Prayer List : July 31 & August 01

Sunday, (August 1) – Praise God for the apostles and prophets who laid the foundation for the Church, whose teaching, given through the Holy Spirit, we have in Scripture. Thank God for the evangelists who take the Gospel to new places and people who have yet to turn to Jesus. Thank God for the pastors and teachers, the leaders God has given to mature us as they do the work of ministry so that His Body is built up. Pray that the Body of Christ will experience growth: growth in breadth as more are saved and added to our number, and growth in depth as we grow deeper in Him and be more Christlike. Pray that we will always stand firm on the truth of His Word and not be tossed back and forth by difficult circumstances or false teaching. Pray that our lives together may bring glory to His name.

Monday, (August 2) – Pray for God’s healing to be upon all those who are sick and hurt. Pray for God’s constant protection to be upon all people. Pray that we as a church will draw near to God in the midst of this crisis. We especially pray for God’s abiding presence to be with all those who are either quarantined at home or recuperating in hospitals. Pray for God’s peace which surpasses all understanding to comfort them and to remove all their fears.

Tuesday, (August 3 – Pray for our church (especially our audio-visual IT and technical support team, worship teams, Pastor Gaurri, liturgists and leaders of the church) and all churches throughout the world as we battle the rulers, the authorities, cosmic powers over this present darkness and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Pray for the Lord’s protection and covering over His churches. Commit our church and churches around the world to be united in one spirit and equipped with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the Gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit as we fight against the principalities and powers of darkness.

Wednesday, (August 4) – Pray for the Nation:Pray for good and favourable outcomes from the recent Parliamentary sitting. Pray that our political leaders will not keep focusing on their political ambitions but will unite together for the well-being of the nation and the rakyat, and focus on the important issues the nation is facing, namely the health crisis and the weakened economy resulting from the pandemic. Pray that the nation’s leaders will be people of integrity, and will act justly and do what is right, love mercy and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8).

Thursday, (August 5) – The COVID-19 cases show no sign of abating, the infectivity rate continues to be high and the daily deaths are also high. Pray for God’s mercy upon the situation. Pray for the Lord’s peace and healing upon those who have contracted the coronavirus, especially those who are in critical condition. Pray for comfort for those who have lost family members to the disease. Pray that those who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms will take personal responsibility to observe strict quarantine so that they will not infect others. Pray for wisdom for the government that it will carefully assess the situation before allowing more freedom of movement for people who have been fully vaccinated.

Friday, (August 6) – Pray for TRAC:Pray that all TRAC Churches will continue to be salt and light to the communities around them. Pray that God will open our eyes to see the needs around us and pray for wisdom to respond appropriately. Pray for God’s protection to be upon all those who are going out to give food aids to those in need. Pray for TRAC Churches to be bold in sharing the love of Christ during this pandemic. Pray that our people will be ministered to as they participate in the weekly online worship services.

Saturday, (August 7) – Pray for the World:Nearly 40,000 people from foreign countries had entered Japan for the Olympic Games which will end tomorrow (August 8, 2021), and more than 150 people associated with the Games have been tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Pray that as the athletes and officials return to their homes, they will not carry the COVID virus with them and cause cases to spike in their home countries. Pray also for Tokyo, which hosted the Games, as the city experienced a surge in COVID infections recently.
