Scripture Text: James 2: 1 – 13
Introduction
There is no place in the heart of God for favouritism. Therefore, there must also be no favouritism in our hearts and in the church.
Explanation
- Do not show favouritism, do not discriminate and do not have prejudices.
- Those who are poor in the eyes of the world – God sees as being rich in faith.
- We are called to love all people the same – the Royal Law
- Treat one another just like how God treats us and the Church.
Final Word
Be a church that welcomes all people equally.
Reflection Question
1. Where have we shown favouritism, even unconsciously, in our words and actions?
2. Commit to showing kindness especially to the one who is overlooked. How?
3. Let the gospel shape our posture towards all people. How can we treat and love all people the same.
