Prayer List: 11th – 12th June 2022

Sunday, (Jun 12) – Pray that the biblical characteristics of Stephen’s message on authentic Christianity (Acts 7) will minister to the heart of the church as we reconnect with God. Pray that we will live our lives as authentic Christians by applying these three basic truth principles. First and foremost, authentic Christianity is founded wholly and only on God’s revelation and instruction. Second, authentic Christianity stresses that salvation is wholly a gift from God. Third, authentic Christianity is founded on “the Spirit, not the letter” (2 Cor. 3:6); in essence, it opposes all forms of institutionalism.

Monday, (Jun 13)Pray for our church Worship & Music Ministry. We thank God for each member of the worship team, media team and sound team, who offer their God-given gifts to serve Him. Pray that they will depend on the leading of the Holy Spirit, and His Word will minister to the heart of the congregation through the time of worship. Pray that each member will grow in their personal relationship with the Lord, who alone can provide joy, strength, wisdom and all they need, and may the Lord bless them as they serve Him as well as they strive to excel wherever they are placed, to glorify His Name. Pray that God will lead more people to see the gift that He has given them and to join His ministries so that it can be used for His glory.

Tuesday, (Jun 14) – Pray for Christ’s Church locally and worldwide, to be the church of reconnecting with God – recognizing His presence by welcoming His presence in expectancy to experience His transformative actions in His people’s lives. Pray that by reconnecting with one another, Christ’s Church would rebuild the spiritual community that has been lost in the lives of God’s people. Pray that the Church will display the beauty of Christ in a Christ-shaped community that praises God and enjoys the favour of all God’s people as the church gatherings indeed matter.

Wednesday, (Jun 15)Pray for the Nation: Pray that God would raise upright and righteous leaders who will do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly before Him, especially in bringing high-profile cases to a closure. Pray for our government’s prudence in implementing a health insurance programme for retirees due to depleting EPF savings and rising costs. Pray for the government to implement swift measures to alleviate the escalating costs of food and other essential items, which have disproportionately impacted B40 households and those in the middle-income bracket.

Thursday, (Jun 16)TRAC: Pray for the upcoming seminar (via zoom) which will be held on this Saturday 18th on Family Ministries, Discipling the Next Generation, organized by TRAC Board of Christian Education. Pray for God’s anointing and guidance to be upon the speaker Dr Herbert Tan and the team. Pray for a greater awareness among us of the importance of discipling the next generation, especially in light of an increasingly digitalized world while attempting to keep to the basic biblical core of discipleship. Pray that the participants will join the seminar with eagerness to learn and practice. Pray that all the arrangement goes smoothly on that day.

Friday, (Jun 17)Pray for the food security. As many countries are facing growing levels of food insecurity and increased food prices due to pandemic, war, climate changes and the like, pray for God’s protection and mercy that food supply will not be disrupted. Pray for God’s wisdom to be upon the country’s leaders to implement pragmatic measures to secure the essentials for the people with minimum inflation. Pray for a strong social safety net to support the lives of vulnerable families and individuals who are in need.

Saturday (Jun 18)Pray for the World: Pray for the St Francis Catholic church in Owo in Nigeria, which was attacked by armed men on June 5th Sunday. Pray for God’s comfort and healing to be upon the church and the community in the town. Pray that they will experience God’s presence and His peace in a tangible way that they will continue to gather and worship Him. Pray for God’s intervention and His mercy to be upon the country, so that violent attacks and kidnappings will stop and His peace will prevail. Pray that God will strengthen the churches and our faith in our Lord Jesus, our Living Hope, so that we will continue to witness the Gospel.

This Week’s Prayer: 4th – 5th June 2022

Heavenly Father,

in whom we live and move and have our being, forgive us for the many times we have grieved or quenched Your work in our lives.

Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.

Renew a right spirit within us.

Breathe into us your freshness and empower us with the wind and tongues of fire of the Holy Spirit.

Guide and govern us that in all the cares and occupations of our daily life we may learn to listen to the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit’s voice, as we read Your Word or commune with You in prayer.

Awaken our spiritual fervor that only comes from you. In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Prayer List: 4th – 5th June 2022

Sunday, (Jun 5) – Praise the Lord for His faithfulness in keeping His promise to send the Holy Spirit to his disciples and believers, as they gathered and waited together with one accord in one place, sharing the same love and trust in the Lord. May we desire in faith and unity to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, who transforms our lives and enables us to devote ourselves to the Word of the Lord, remembering His Work, fellowship and prayer, in order to be effective witness to our Lord Jesus.

Monday, (Jun 6) – Pray for the church cell group ministry that it will fully complement our church theme of reconnecting with God and with one another to serve God as a holistic and healthy growing church. Pray for cell group leaders that their spirits will be continuously refreshed and renewed in the Lord: they will soar on wings like eagles, run without growing weary, and walk without fainting (Isaiah 40:31). Pray for our cell members to grow in knowledge and understanding of God, as well as to have a passion and deep desire to study God’s Word in order to live a flourishing life in light of God’s self-revelation in Jesus Christ.

Tuesday, (Jun 7) – Pray for the Holy Spirit to place in our hearts one name for this year, be it for our friends, family, or co-workers to come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Pray that we, as the body of Christ, will be more intentional in sowing seed to unbelievers who have yet to hear the good news (gospel) of God’s salvation. Pray for the sick that they will experience healing and restoration from the hand of the Lord.

Wednesday, (Jun 8)Pray for the Nation: Pray for wisdom and discernment for our Prime Minister Sabri Yaakob to convene a general election (GE15) at the appropriate time in the best interests of the nation. Pray also for our Prime Minister to carefully consider all factors that would affect the rakyat before reintroducing the goods and services tax (GST), which was prematurely abolished by the Pakatan Harapan administration in 2018. Pray for improved business confidence and prudent policy decisions across the country’s business sectors to stem rising inflation and living costs. activities, and responsiveness in controlling the dengue outbreak.

Thursday, (Jun 9)TRAC: Pray for the upcoming seminar (via zoom) which will be held on June 18 on Family Ministries – Discipling the Next Generation, organized by TRAC Board of Christian Education. Pray for God’s anointing and guidance to be upon the speaker Dr. Herbert Tan and the team. Pray for a greater awareness among us of the importance of discipling the next generation, especially in light of an increasingly digitalized world while attempting to keep to the basic biblical core of discipleship. Pray that many people will join the seminar with eagerness to learn and practice. Pray that all the arrangement goes smoothly on the day.

Friday, (Jun 10) – Pray for the children as many are having school holidays this week. Pray for God’s protection to be upon them. May this be a time for the children and teachers to have sufficient rest and to prepare for a joyous return to school at the start of the next term. Pray for God’s blessings to be upon the family, that they will have a blessed time bonding with one another throughout the holidays, and that they will also experience God’s goodness together and draw closer to Him.

Saturday (Jun 11)Pray for the World: Thanks be to God that Shanghai has now eased a range of covid-19 restrictions. Pray continually for God’s healing and protection be upon the people, as well as His guidance to be upon the leaders and for the recovery of the economy. Pray for North Korea. Pray for God’s mercy that the spread of corona virus is contained. Pray that the leaders will be open to receiving aid from international groups or countries if they are in need. Pray for God’s sustaining grace, comfort and strength to be upon the remnant.
