This Week’s Prayer: 9th – 10th April 2022

Lord God,
we give you thanks
for you are good and your mercy is endless.

Here we stand at the start of this holy week,
in which we remember
Jesus’ passion and death.

Open our eyes;
open our ears
and our hearts
so that we can once again see and hear
and experience your immense love
for each one of us
through our Lord Jesus Christ.

In Jesus Name we pray.

Amen

Prayer List: 9th – 10th April 2022

Sunday, (Apr 10) – As we remember Jesus’ triumphant entry today, pray that the humility of Jesus coming into Jerusalem riding on the donkey to be impressed upon our hearts. Pray that we would learn to be humble just like Jesus. Pray also that we will allow Jesus to be the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords of our lives. Pray that we will never be tempted to turn our backs on Jesus just like how the crowd who cried “Hosanna to the Son of David” eventually turned their back and cried out “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”

Monday, (Apr 11)Pray for the Church – Baptism & Reception into Membership – We give thanks for all who were baptized and received into the membership of the church. Pray for all who have been baptized. Pray that God will continue to work in the hearts of these new believers as they make a commitment to follow Jesus. Pray for their lives to be transformed to be more like Christ in all that they do. Pray that our church be reminded of her own salvation as she witnesses the baptism. Pray also that our church will embrace all those who were brought into membership as one family in Christ.

Tuesday, (Apr 12) – Pray for the restoration of the church prayer meetings so that Malaysian churches can be faithful to be houses of prayer for all nations and people can experience God’s personal love. Pray for protection and faithful endurance of the churches in these challenging times, such as in Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Pakistan, against any wicked plans, ongoing wars, and oppressions aimed against God’s servants and his people. Pray for churches all across the nation to display true compassion and unselfish service in bringing unbelievers to Christ especially during Lent and Passion Week.

Wednesday, (Apr 13)Pray for the Nation: Pray for a new generation of God-fearing MPs and politicians who are competent and have a humble heart of serving the needs and well-being of the rakyat. Pray for our government to stay focus to boosting economic recovery and creating at least 600,000 employment opportunities this year through environmentally, socially and governance-oriented economy and society (ESG) initiatives. Pray for the public to remain vigilant and abide to the SOPs as our Health DG has warned that the country is just in the transition phase to endemic and has not yet entered the endemic phase especially in the light of emerging variants such as the highly infectious Omicron XE variant.

Thursday, (Apr 14)TRAC Pastors School – Pray for all TRAC Pastors who would be attending the TRAC Pastors School from the 19th – 22nd of April 2022. Pray for journey mercies as all pastors travelling to Taiping. Pray for pastors to have a good and blessed time of re-connecting with God and one-another. Pray for opportunities whereby fellow pastors may encourage, edify and minister to one another.

Friday, (Apr 15) – We praise and give thanks to God for His unconditional love, grace and His faithfulness to all humanity, which was manifested on the Cross. We thank God for our Lord Jesus Christ, who, in His obedience, endured all the sufferings and agonies so that we could be set free. We come to the Lord in repentance and seek His forgiveness, as we may sometimes take this amazing grace for granted or fail to fully recognize it. Our old self was crucified with Jesus on the Cross, and we pray that His Spirit may help us to surrender our lives to Him and live with Him. All glory to our Lord Jesus, God and our Saviour.

Saturday (Apr 16)Pray for the World: Pray for Sri Lanka, as the country is facing an economic and political crisis. Pray that the frustration and anger of the people can be expressed out and heard in a peaceful manner. Pray for God’s wisdom to be upon the country leaders so that they will commit themselves to work together for the country and its people to overcome the crisis, with the assistance and guidance of international leaders. Pray for God’s mercy and provision to be upon the country, so that basic necessities such as food, medication and fuel can be delivered to the people daily.
