This Week’s Prayer: 12th – 13th March 2022

Heavenly Father,

thank You that despite the wickedness
of the human heart and the evil intentions
in the mind of the fallen man and woman,
You determined from before the foundation
of the earth, to redeem Your creatures
and You chose to forgive the sins of those
who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank You that all who believe in Him
are declared righteous by Your grace.
You are a good and gracious God
Who forgives our iniquity,
declares us righteous,
and remembers our sins no more.

Help us to walk in Your ways
and to point others to Jesus,
the Author and Finisher of our faith.

In His Name we pray. Amen

Prayer List: 12th – 13th March 2022

Sunday, (Mar 13) – Genesis 6: 9 says that “Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God”. Pray that we as a church will seek to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord. Pray for our walk with God to be deepen and strengthen. Pray that we will learn to obey God all the days of our lives even when it is challenging and difficult. Pray for the Lord’s enablement to be with us as we strive towards living holy and blameless lives.

Monday, (Mar 14)Pray for the Church: Boys & Girls Brigade – Pray for the gospel to be shared among the students. Pray that God would raise more people to be involved in the brigades ministry as officers. Pray for the Lord’s guidance and strength to be upon our captains (Capt. Jonathan Raj & Capt. Sarah Joyce) as they lead their respective brigade company. Pray that the seed sown in their lives of these students will bear fruit in the future.

Tuesday, (Mar 15) – Pray for Pastor Bill Wilson, who is leading the Metro World Child team to Ukraine to assist the victims, particularly the children who require immediate assistance in life or death situations. Pray for God’s protection and strength to be with them as they seek for survivors and provide food, water, and medical supplies while supply networks in many places are cut off. Continue to pray for Ukraine as a large number of Ukrainians depart their nation as the war and hardships worsen. Pray that the truce will come to an end.

Wednesday, (Mar 16)Pray for the Nation: Pray for the rakyat to adapt effectively and follow the refined SOPs in the ‘Transition to Endemic’ phase (yet to be released) from April 1, 2022, which include guidelines instructions for reopening the country’s border to foreign travel, religious activities, and commercial operating time constraints. Pray for the Federal Territories minister that the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will find the best solution to resolve the recent flash floods. Pray for justice, righteousness, and stability in our country, workplaces, churches, schools, and neighbourhoods.

Thursday, (Mar 17)Pray for TRAC: Pray for all TRAC Churches. In this season of Lent, pray that the church will do all that she can to draw closer to the Lord. Pray that churches in TRAC will take the time to ponder on all that Jesus has accomplished for us. Pray that God will open our eyes and our ears to see and hear what God continues to do in our churches. May this season of Lent be a season whereby our churches will re-examine themselves and allow God to lead them as a church respectively.

Friday, (Mar 18) – Pray for the families of the 239 passengers and crew members of MH370. This year marks the eighth anniversary of the disappearance of a Boeing 777 that took off from Kuala Lumpur on March 8, 2014 but never arrived at its destination. May God’s comfort be upon the families. Pray that God will continue to guide the governments and investigators in the search for the MH 370, bringing healing and closure to the families, and ensuring the safety of international flights.

Saturday (Mar 19)Pray for the World: Pray for Ethiopia, especially four low-lying regions (Oromia, Somali, Afar and SNNPR) that have been experiencing severe drought. Many people rely on flocks of sheep, cattle and other animals for their livelihood, and water shortage leads to the loss of the livestock, then to loss of livelihood. May God in His mercy hear His people’s cries and send rain on the lands. Pray for God’s protection be upon small children from malnourishment or diseases caused by the contaminated water. Pray that the humanitarian relief reaches the affected areas as quickly as possible.

This Week’s Prayer: 5th & 6th March 2022

Most loving Lord,
give us a steadfast heart,
which no unworthy thought
can drag downwards;
an unconquered heart,
which no hardship can wear out;
and upright heart,
which no worthless purpose can ensnare.

Give us also, O Lord our God,
understanding to know You,
diligence to seek You
and a faithfulness that will finally embrace You;
through Jesus Christ, my Lord.

St Thomas Aquinas (1255 – 1274)

Prayer List: 5th & 6th March 2022

Sunday, (Mar 6) – God said to Cain, “if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it”. Let us pray that we would seek God’s grace in overcoming sin in our lives. Pray that we would not allow anger, hatred or bitterness to rule our hearts but rather we would allow the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control to take root in our hearts.

Monday, (Mar 7)Pray for the Church: Commit the youths of our church to the Lord. Pray that our youths will desire to grow in their relationship with God. Pray that God would surround our youths with people who may be able to spur them on towards good deeds. Pray that God would raise more godly people who would be willing to journey with our younger generation. Pray especially for our youths who are currently sitting for their SPM examination. Pray for God’s guidance to be with them and may they glorify God through their hard work.

Tuesday, (Mar 8) – Pray in this season of Lent, we commit the Ukrainian people in prayer and make peace a goal of our Lenten fasting. Pray as to reflect on ourselves the importance of discovering God’s will for our lives and allow God’s power to manifest through our own weakness in our daily struggles and pains. Pray for God’s protection of our hearts and minds not to be led astray by any forms of temptations. Pray that our souls will be nourished by the heavenly food of God’s Word.

Wednesday, (Mar 9)Pray for the Nation: Continue to pray fervently for a downward trend in daily Covid-19 cases. Pray that the country’s overall occupancy rate, which has surpassed 50 percent in both ICU and non ICU wards, does not continue to rise and that it is able to handle the increase in Covid-19 and non Covid patients. Pray for the long embattling court cases of high-profile persons being swiftly brought to justice for corruption and misappropriation of public funds, and for our country’s practices of transparency, accountability, and integrity to be restored.

Thursday, (Mar 10)Pray for TRAC: Pray for all TRAC Churches.

Friday, (Mar 11) – Pray for the students who are sitting for the SPM exam. Pray for God’s protection be upon them physically, psychologically, and emotionally while they study in the midst of the pandemic, so that they can sit for the exam in the best possible condition. Pray that God will lead them through their exam preparation and help them to get the most out of it. Pray for God’s guidance and wisdom upon the Education Ministry and schools as they prepare for a new set of exams for those who are unable to participate this round due to covid and other issues.

Saturday (Mar 12)Pray for the World. Pray for God’s divine intervention upon Russia’s ceasefire in Ukraine. Pray that His justice and peace will prevail, and He will guide world leaders in their efforts to bring reconciliation to Russia and Ukraine. Pray for God’s protection be upon the innocent residents and those forced to flee their home, as well as for the sufficient humanitarian aids to reach them. Pray for God’s comfort and healing be upon those who have lost loved ones, those who have been wounded, and those who have suffered tremendously. Pray that God will sustain and unite His people for peace.
