Prayer List: 3rd – 4th Sept 2022

Sunday, (Sept 4) – Heavenly Father, we thank you for Nehemiah’s courage and Ezra’s zeal in rebuilding the Jerusalem wall and temple. Pray that Your Church prioritises listening to Your Word when it is read and explained. Pray that when Your Word is understood and accepted as the canon of their faith, it will bring repentance, and that the joy of the Lord will be the strength of the Church. Pray that Your Word will be applied in the life of the Church as a result of the Church’s understanding and acceptance.

Monday, (Sept 5) – Pray for the Girls’ Brigade Malaysia Young Leader Preliminary Training, which will be held on September 9-11 at Wesley Methodist Church Kuala Lumpur. Captain Sarah and the girls from First Klang GB will be attending the training. Pray for God’s protection upon them. Pray for God’s presence and the work of His Spirit among them that they will encounter Him personally. Pray for God’s guidance, peace and unity among the facilitators and that all goes well for His glory.

Tuesday, (Sept 6) – Pray for Sunday School programmes to be deeply rooted in the Word of God and for children to learn the character and heartbeat of Jesus as they grow in the truth and impartation of His commandment and Great Commission. Pray for the churches wherever they are, be prepared to answer anyone who questions the church’s hope in Christ, and share the good news gently and respectfully. Pray that Christian parents will prioritise discipleship at home and will obey God’s Word so that their lives will be examples of Gospel-embodiment.

Wednesday, (Sept 7)Pray for the Nation: Pray that the Malaysian law enforcement would carry out their responsibilities in a fair and just manner, with no abuse of power against the innocent or impunity for the perpetrators. Pray that religious freedom and rights are upheld resolutely by all stakeholders in this country, and that the relevant authorities do not violate these rights and freedoms. Pray for the protection of the judges who are currently presiding over high-profile ongoing corruption cases, particularly those in the Federal Court, so that justice and fairness can be upheld.

Thursday, (Sept 8)TRAC: The TRAC Joint Board meeting will be held on Sep.10 (Sat.) at Trinity Methodist Church in PJ, where all the board members of the various boards in TRAC meet to report on their ministries, discuss and plan for the future. Pray for God’s protection both at the meeting and on their journey. Pray for His wisdom and guidance, and for a spirit of harmony and unity among them.

Friday, (Sept 9) – Pray for Pakistan, which has been hit by the worst flooding it has had in decades, devastating houses, crops, livestock and people. Pray for God’s comfort to be upon the nation and the many millions of flood-affected people. Pray for God’s intervention that the water will subside soon. Pray that God will protect people from disease and malnutrition, especially children and the elderly, and that He will heal those who are sick or injured. Pray for more international aids to be sent to assist in the nation’s recovery as well as to meet immediate needs such as food, clean water, medication, clothing, and other necessities.

Saturday (Sept 10)Pray for the World: This week we commit our prayers to Japan. Pray for the Gospel to take root in Japanese culture and to stop perceived as a Western religion. Pray for drifting, over-worked, and anxious youth to find solace and freedom in Christ. Pray for the unity of God’s Spirit to break down the barriers that divide the 120 different denominations.
