Prayer List: November 29, 2020

Sunday, (Nov 29) – Praise God that Jesus will come back again in great glory and power, and establish His everlasting Kingdom. Pray that we will not allow ourselves to become entangled with the things of this world, nor allow our hearts to be weighed down with the anxieties of life, that in so doing, our watchfulness for the second coming of Christ will be diminished. Pray that the Holy Spirit will revive our hearts and give us a fresh sense of urgency that produces greater devotion to the Lord and a living-out of our faith, ministering the love of Christ in word and deed. Pray that we will endure to the end that we may join in on that great day with those who are given the crown of life.

Monday, (Nov 30) – Praise God for the hope that we in Christ Jesus, because on that first Christmas, God gave us the gift of hope wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger. Pray that we will cling on to Christ, our gift of hope even as the Advent season begins in the midst of a pandemic, with everything seeming to fall apart around us. Pray that we will not lose hope, but trust that God is producing in us great endurance through the hard places, and that He is building spiritual muscle in us. Pray that we will press in close to His presence, and no matter what obstacles we are facing, we choose hope. Pray that we will share this hope we have in Christ with those who are in despair.

Tuesday, (Dec 1) – Pray for the Nation: Even as the Members of Parliament will continue to debate on the national Budget 2021, pray for wisdom to prevail and justice and righteousness to flow like a river. Pray that all our political leaders will put aside their personal agendas, and work together towards fairer measures in the budget, and adjust it accordingly so that the poor and disadvantaged will get more financial help to alleviate their distress, and also for adequate allocation to fight the Covid-19 situation. Pray also that during this rainy season, there will be no massive flooding, so that people will not have to deal with having to manage floods on top of the pandemic.

Wednesday, (Dec 2) – Praise God for the high number of daily Covid-19 recoveries last week. Pray for Top Glove Corporation Bhd, which has seen a high number of daily Covid-19 infections, that the enhanced movement control order imposed on its factories will be effective to curb the spread of Covid-19 and safeguard the well-being of its employees, their families and the general public. Pray that its factories that have been closed will soon be able to reopen as Top Glove is the largest manufacturer of surgical gloves in the world, and with the world’s demand for gloves increasing significantly due to the pandemic, prolonged closure of the factories will impact our nation’s economy, and also the pandemic.

Thursday, (Dec 3) – Praise God for the Orang Asli(OA) Ministry in our church, that 7 of our church members are doing online tutoring for the secondary OA school students, as well as the Year 6 students who will be moving up to secondary school next year. Pray that the new wifi system that was installed will work well so that the lessons will proceed smoothly. As all the 10 OA students will be doing the online lessons in the OA Pastor Noraini’s house, pray that she will be able to supervise them, and that the students will be excited, interested and diligent towards their studies.

Friday, (Dec 4) – Pray for TRAC: There will be several TRAC pastors who will be going on transfer in 2021. Some transfers involve moving from one state to another. Pray for God’s protection upon all the pastor and families concerned as the transfers this year are more complicated given the worrying number of daily Covid-19 cases now in Malaysia. Pray also that the the receiving churches will welcome their new pastors and their families with warmth, and that relationships will develop well over time.

Saturday, (Dec 5) – Pray for the World: Pray for South Korea as the nation has seen a surge in daily Covid-19 cases, sparking fears of a major third wave. Pray that the health authorities will be able to contain the infections. Pray also for the US, where millions defied the travel warning for last Thusday’s Thanksgiving holiday, and pressed ahead with their travel plans amid skyrocketing Covid-19 cases and deaths. Pray that by God’s grace, the Covid-19 situation will not blow up into a national crisis.
