Prayer List: November 8, 2020

Sunday, (Nov 8) – When God seems far away, pray that He will remind us that we can always come to Him, and that He will always hear us. Pray that during the times such as these, when we wrestle with pain and sorrow, we will not allow the voices of darkness to prevail, nor our suffering to sabotage our trust in God’s faithfulness and sovereignty. Pray that we will choose to trust in His unquestionable and inexhaustible steadfast love for us, and are convinced that there are no circumstances of life that He does not know about, and that in all things we are more than conquerors through Christ. Pray that we will choose to put our hope in God at all times, and rejoice in Him, and in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, present our requests to Him.

Monday, (Nov 9) – Malaysia continues to experience high numbers of daily infections of Covid-19 cases. The health DG said that the Ministry of Health is aiming to flatten the curve in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Pray that the people will give their full cooperation by staying home if there are no important errands outside, and if they have to go out, they will comply with the SOPs set out by the authorities to control the Covid-19 virus and break the chain of its infection. Pray that God will intervene in the situation, and the daily cases of infection will drop, especially in Sabah and Selangor.

Tuesday, (Nov 10) – Pray for the Nation: The national Budget 2021 was tabled on November 6, 2020, and it is the biggest expenditure in the history of Malaysia. Pray that the budget will be able to sustain and help the poor and needy in the nation, regardless of race. Pray for wisdom for the government that the budget will be distributed fairly, and not to favour any party. Pray also for God’s blessings to strengthen our nation’s economy by bringing in more foreign investors.

Wednesday, (Nov 11) – Stressed from an examination year of erratic and online lessons, the Form Five students are nervous about the possibility of the SPM examinations – set to begin on January 6, 2021 – being postponed again. With Covid-19 cases increasing and more schools being closed, the students are also concerned about their safety when they sit for their examinations. Pray for wisdom for the Education Ministry so it will come up with clear details and guidelines for the examinations, especially with regards to the dates of the examinations. Pray for God’s peace upon all the students so they will be able to focus on their preparation for the examinations.

Thursday, (Nov 12) – As Hindus will be celebrating Deepavali on Saturday, November 14, 2020, pray that they will follow strictly the SOPs set out by the government and health authorities so that the nation will not experience a spike in Covid-19 cases after the festival. Pray that those living in conditional and enhanced MCO areas will not cross borders to return to their hometowns. Pray that those celebrating the festival in the RMCO and CMCO areas will comply strictly with the SOPs when they attend prayers in the temples, and when they have their gatherings.

Saturday, (Nov 14) – Pray for the World: Pray for England as the nation entered a second nationwide four-week lockdown last Thursday, November 5, 2020, which aims to combat a surge in coronavirus cases and deaths. Pray that the people will comply with the rules as people are only allowed to leave home for school, work, medical reasons, exercise, shopping or providing care to the vulnerable. Pray that this lockdown will be effective in bringing down the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths, and prevent the medical frontliners from being overwhelmed.
