O God,

you desire truth in the inmost heart, Forgive us, our sins against the truth – the untruth within us, the half-lies, the evasions, the exaggerations, the lying silences, the self-deceits, the masks we wear before the world.

Let us stand naked before you, and see ourselves as we really are.

Then, grant us the truth in the inward parts and keep us in truth always.

Sunday, (Jul 24) – Pray against the peril of familiarity with Scripture that has prevented us from seeing the amazing truth hidden beneath God’s word. Pray that we would follow Jesus unreservedly since He is the truth of God’s Word and the only truth, being divinity itself and clothed in absolute and righteous authority. Pray that as Jesus shines his light into our lives, the truth will convince our hearts and that we will see the urgency to walk intimately with Christ to be transformed into His image.

Monday, (Jul 25) – Pray for the Cell Group Ministry – Pray that the Spirit of God is at work in each group to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus, bearing the fruit of the Spirit. Pray that God will empower the leaders with encouragement and wisdom. Pray for unity and a spirit of forgiveness and humility in a group, with the same mindset as our Lord Jesus. Pray for God’s grace that each group will become a safe place where members encourage each other, learn from and admonish one another in love and care. Pray that more people will join a group, and cell groups will be mobilized to reach out to the community by God’s grace.

Tuesday, (Jul 26) – Pray for God’s healing encounters for people who are suffering from long covid symptoms, terminal illness, and mental illness. Pray for the provision and guidance of the Holy Spirit’s power and strength in facing their sufferings and grace in restoring them fully. Pray for God’s mercy and grace for divine opportunities and encounters for friendship, acts of love and care, and opportunities to share God’s love with people who do not yet know Christ.

Wednesday, (Jul 27) – Pray for the Nation: Pray for unity among the opposition parties and the incumbent government in developing a realistic and efficient mechanism for subsidy policies to halt rising inflation and alleviate the rakyat’s burden of the rising cost of essential goods. Pray for a swift resolution to the temporary freeze on all Indonesian workers entering Malaysia, so that the affected industries that are facing foreign workers shortages are not further delayed. Pray for wisdom and urgency in preparing for the nation’s social security and welfare in revitalizing an aging nation.

Thursday, (Jul 28) – TRAC: Pray for the seminar “When Life (and God) don’t make sense” (the book called JOB) held at Trinity Methodist Church PJ from July 29 to July 31. Pray for God’s anointing and wisdom to be upon Bishop Dr. Gordon Wong, who will share pastoral reflections in response to 7 questions that have been raised from a reading of the book called Job. May God illuminates the hearts of those who attend the seminar for the insights of the Almighty, All-knowing, Sovereign God and encounter His presence. Pray that all the preparation and arrangement go smoothly before and on the days of the seminar.

Friday, (Jul 29) – Pray for the missionaries all over the world. Pray that God will watch over each person and family, and cover them with a hedge of protection, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Pray that God’s tangible presence and His peace enable them to stay united with Him always. Pray that God also brings His people to walk alongside them so they will not feel isolated. Pray against any discouragement or doubt, and God’s assurance, encouragement, and providence are with them, enabling them to continue to seek Him for the tasks He has given them. Pray that God will open doors for their work, and He will provide all their needs with His grace, strength, clear direction, and wisdom.

Saturday (Jul 30) – Pray for the World: Pray for our troubled world, which is continually in a state of pain and suffering due to natural calamities (from bush fires and plagues to disastrous floods and mudslides) that God’s kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Pray for people who are vulnerable to coronavirus pandemic across the world, as well as for medical aid that may be more difficult to access. Pray for comfort and hope for all nations experiencing conflict and political instability.

Heavenly Father,

thank you that You are our ever-present rock of refuge and never-failing strength and stronghold.

Sunday, (Jul 17) – Pray that we will be friends and a listening ear to those suffering from mental illnesses, anxiety, and depression. Pray for the release of assistance resources, the employment of adequate personnel, and the allocation of funds to national mental health programs. Give thanks to God for being our ever-present fortress and tower of refuge.

Monday, (Jul 18) – Pray for our church Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade ministries. Thanks be to God that they have started physical meetings. Pray for the captains, officers, boys, and girls, for their safety, health and wellbeing, especially in light of a surge in Covid-19 infections. Pray for God’s wisdom and strength to be upon the captains and officers. Pray that God’s presence is among boys and girls in each meeting so that they will come to know and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Pray for Boys’ Brigade’s boot camp that is held this Saturday and Sunday (July 23 and 24) in the church. 40 boys, 6 officers and the Captain will be attending. Pray for God’s protection and guidance that all is conducted well and smoothly for His glory.

Tuesday, (Jul 19) – Pray for a repentant spirit for Malaysian churches for their lukewarmness, forsaking the Lord as their first love and the priorities of His kingdom. Pray for a contrite heart against the spirit of consumerism, that they choose which elements of God they want while rejecting the rest, particularly to seek the power of Christ’s resurrection without sharing in His sufferings (Phil. 3:10-11). Pray against the prideful spirit that causes them to be more concerned with building their own kingdom for self-glory than with building God’s church.

Wednesday, (Jul 20) – Pray for the Nation: Pray for our government to expedite the approval process for foreign worker applications so that economic recovery efforts are not jeopardized. Pray for wisdom and favor for our government to take immediate action to address the shortage of foreign workers after Indonesia announced a temporary freeze on migrant workers for Malaysia. Pray for increased public vigilance against complacency in the face of a new wave of BA.4 and BA.5 variants that are highly infectious.

Thursday, (Jul 21) – TRAC: Pray alongside the Board of Youth Work, as they work toward raising up future generations of proactive God-fearing youths who are personally experiencing dynamic spiritual transformation and are on fire for Christ in their family, in TRAC, and this world. Pray for God’s guidance to be upon them as they empower and work with parents and churches to journey with youths. Pray that God will guard young people’s minds and hearts so that they will desire to learn more about Jesus both intellectually and experientially and they will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and be secured with their identity in Christ, they will also desire to share with others about our Lord Jesus.

Friday, (Jul 22) – Continue to pray for families, friends, and people around us in the community that they would come to know Jesus. Pray earnestly and persistently for God’s mercy upon them, for His desire that all are saved and returned to Him. Pray that God will guide us to have perceptive eyes, ears and hearts to understand their needs and way of life. Pray that God will help us to build a good relationship with them and grant us the opportunity to share His Word and love with them. Pray for courage and trust God that His Spirit being in us, will guide us with His love and Word.

Saturday (Jul 23) – Pray for the World: Continue to pray for Sri Lanka. Pray that the country’s order is restored and maintained without violence. Pray that God will raise courageous leaders who care about their nation and its people, and commit to leading for the improvement of the economy and the quality of life for all. Pray that IMF’s aid talks with Sir Lanka will resume soon and continue to be constructive and productive. Pray for God’s intervention and mercy that essential needs will be reached to each individual of the country daily.
